The Educational Talent Search (ETS) Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and sponsored locally by the University of Texas at El Paso and provides college, career, and financial aid information to high school students each year. ETS identifies students who demonstrate an interest or desire to attend college and provides them with the motivation and support to enroll in a program of postsecondary education (college, university, technical or vocational school) after high school graduation.

The Educational Talent Search (ETS) program identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds  who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to and complete their post-secondary education. The program publicizes the availability of financial aid and assist participant with the post-secondary application process. ETS also encourages persons who have not completed educational programs at the secondary or post-secondary level to enter or reenter and complete post-secondary education. The goal of the ETS program is to increase the number of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in and complete their post-secondary education. ETS works in collaboration with 4 schools within the El Paso Independent School District: Guillen Middle School, Henderson Middle School, Bowie High School and Jefferson High School.
