College can be pretty expensive, but financial aid helps you pay for it. To receive need-based federal financial aid for your school of choice, you have to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The FAFSA will calculate your eligibility for the Pell Grant, scholarships, work-study, grants, and loans. Once schools have your FAFSA, you will then receive a financial award letter stating how much you will receive in aid from the school and how much you and your family will have to pay.
