Q&A
What books have you written?
The Immortal Bloodlines duology:
- How to Get Away with Evil (2023)
- How to Get Away with Lying (2024)
Are there any more novels in the works?
Yes, I'm always brainstorming new plot ideas! Right now, I have a fantasy novel that is in the works, so stay tuned for more updates :)
Where can I find signed copies of your books?
You can't buy signed copies online, but if you reach out to me personally, you can get a copy!
Do you have any recommendations for books similar to yours?
I always have so many book recommendations, especially for fans of YA murder mysteries. Some of my favorites include One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus (one of my biggest inspirations), as well as books by authors such as Jessica Goodman and Diana Urban.
However, some general book recommendations that I love to give friends include Powerless by Lauren Roberts, Magnolia Parks by Jessa Hastings, and Happy Place by Emily Henry.
Where do you get your ideas?
My ideas come from random places, but usually, they're prompted by Pinterest prompts, conversations with friends, or books that I'm reading. I was originally inspired to write my debut novel "How to Get Away with Evil" from a prompt about a girl lying about killing her best friend, which I found twisted yet super intriguing. I also had a huge love for fantasy at the time and wanted a book where both genres, paranormal and mystery, could be intertwined.
How did you become an author?
As of middle school, I couldn't stop writing stories during my free time - not that I ever got to finish these novel attempts. Only in ninth grade did I find the motivation to sit down and focus on a storyline, which was how my first book was created. After years of writing and editing, I first published the book on Wattpad in hopes of getting feedback. Then, I decided that it was time to just self-publish!
What advice do you have for people who want to be authors?
The best advice I can give is to chase after your dreams even when you feel like the entire world is against it. Sit down and just write! If you want to write a novel, all you have to do is put in the work. Also, remember that not everyone who reads your work will love it; that's because everything has a target audience. It doesn't mean you aren't good enough - you will find your readers.
Do you have a playlist for your books?
Yes, I do! At the front of my novels, there are a few songs that I love and that really inspired me to write. You can also follow my Spotify playlist that I created for the Immortal Bloodlines duology.
