What is 137B Report?
A Section 137B report, also known as an Owner Builder Report, is a legal requirement in Victoria for homeowners who have completed building work on their property and are selling it within 6.5 years, to protects the vendor from legal complications that could arise from defects or non-compliance with building regulations.
A 137B Report must be:
Provided only by a professional engineer/prescribed building practitioner. And
Attached to the Section 32 contract of sale.
