A Low poly style with simple colors.Â
I wanted to make use of volumetric lighting in HDRP but sadly this was too heavy to use. The unity project is now using URP.
For the environment I have choosen a Cavern/Cave. With this I can control how big of an environment it will be, I am planning on making all of the assets myself, so being able to limit the size of the map will be a great help.
The Cavern will be dark, with this I will be able to use light sources to my advantage for signing visual que's to the player.
The game will be a 2D sidescroller with a 3D environment.
With a 3D environment it will be easier to create depth and more a more detailed environment. Also it will be easier to lead the player through the environment since its movement is limited to 2 dimensions.
A small moodboard of different platformer games where jumping on small parcours and interacting with buttons and levers are the main objective.
I mostly took inspiration from Degrees of seperation and Unravel. These 2 games have both small parcours and easy puzzle elements while also leading the player through a environment. In these games you are able to pick up items and push objects around.
