Environmental Engineering Lab

Dankook University

Welcome to the Environmental Engineering Lab focused on innovative solutions for a sustainable future!

At our lab, we are passionate about tackling pressing environmental challenges through cutting-edge research and technological advancements. We are dedicated to addressing key issues related to organic and emerging pollutants, algal toxins, and microplastics, with a particular emphasis on developing low-energy flotation technology.

The world we live in faces significant threats from pollution, both traditional and emerging. Our research aims to find effective and sustainable solutions to combat these threats and protect our ecosystems. Through our investigations into low-energy flotation technology, we explore novel ways to reduce the presence of organic and emerging pollutants in water bodies.

One of our primary focuses is on mitigating the impact of algal toxins, which pose a significant risk to both human and environmental health. We delve into the study of algal blooms, their causes, and the mechanisms behind toxin release. By understanding these processes, we strive to develop strategies to minimize the presence of harmful algal toxins, ensuring safer water resources for communities and aquatic ecosystems.

Additionally, our lab is committed to studying the pervasive issue of microplastics in water bodies. We investigate the sources, transport mechanisms, and potential ecological implications of microplastics. Through our research, we aim to develop innovative techniques for the efficient removal and management of microplastics, safeguarding the health of marine life and ecosystems.

Central to our research efforts is the development and optimization of low-energy flotation technology. By employing advanced flotation techniques that require minimal energy inputs, we seek to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of pollutant removal processes. This approach aligns with our commitment to sustainable practices and reducing the environmental footprint associated with water treatment technologies.

At our Environmental Engineering Lab, we foster a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment. We actively engage in partnerships with industry, government agencies, and other academic institutions to promote knowledge exchange and real-world application of our research findings.

We invite you to explore our lab's work further, delve into the details of our ongoing projects, and learn about the innovative solutions we are developing. Together, we can make a significant impact on reducing organic and emerging pollutants, mitigating algal toxins, and managing microplastics. Join us in our quest to protect and preserve our planet's invaluable resources.

Thank you for your interest in our Environmental Engineering Lab. We look forward to collaborating with like-minded individuals and organizations dedicated to creating a sustainable and cleaner future.
