Our seminars are open to everyone: students, researchers, and anyone interested in borders, cultural encounters, communication, and history.
Yes, all seminars in the Entangled Histories series are entirely free to attend.
Yes. For security reasons we had to set up a pre-registration, which is totally FREE OF CHARGE. Please register before the seminars here. Please, note, only participants joining with their full real name (as provided during registration) will be admitted from the Waiting Room. Nicknames or generic device names (e.g., "iPhone", "User") will be rejected.
All seminars are held online via Jit.si Meet.
Attendance is free, but advance registration is strictly mandatory for security and capacity management.
To attend any session, you must register through our official Ticket Tailor page prior to the event:
• Full Legal Name & Affiliation: You MUST register using your full legal name (First Name and Surname) and your official institutional affiliation (or "Independent Scholar" where applicable). Anonymous, incomplete, or pseudonymous registrations will be automatically cancelled.
• Privacy & Policy Notice: By registering via Ticket Tailor, you consent to the processing of your contact details solely for the administration of the Entangled Histories series. Your data will never be shared with third parties.
• Confirmation & Link: Upon completing registration, you will receive an automatic email confirmation. The unique Jit.si Meet access link will be delivered directly to your registered email address a few minutes before the event.
Jit.si Meet is a browser-based, open-source video platform. It is 100% free and requires NO software installation or account creation.
How to join step-by-step:
1. Click the link: Open the Jit.si Meet link provided in your Ticket Tailor confirmation email using any modern web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari). No app download or installation is required on a computer. (If joining via a mobile device/tablet, you may either join directly in your mobile browser or use the free Jit.si Meet app).
2. Set your Display Name (MANDATORY): Before entering the virtual room, the system will prompt you to enter your display name. Your Display Name MUST EXACTLY MATCH the full name you used during Ticket Tailor registration. Unidentified users, device defaults (e.g., "iPhone", "User123"), or names not matching the registration list will be removed from the meeting room by the moderators without prior notice.
3. Audio & Video Etiquette: - Please ensure your microphone is MUTED upon entry to avoid background noise. - Keep your camera ON during presentations if possible, to foster an engaging seminar environment. - To ask a question during the Q&A session, use the "Raise Hand" icon in the Jit.si toolbar or write your question in the meeting chat.
Our seminars are held every Thursday at 6:00 pm (Central European Time).
From time to time, we might need to change the start time due to organisational reasons, but this happens very seldomly.

All seminars are conducted in English.
Due to speaker permissions and publication plans, seminars are not recorded. Some speakers prefer not to be recorded, and several presentations are intended for inclusion in forthcoming edited volumes and special issues. We are committed to respecting the wishes of our speakers and the integrity of future publications.
