The idea of a school without teachers, where artificial intelligence (AI) would take over, is a fantasy that will not stand up to reality. Whether it is 2030 or 2050, there will always be teachers facing students. A class needs an adult to regulate, adapt, support and transmit much more than knowledge: posture, pedagogy, human interactions essential to student development. On the other hand, AI will profoundly transform schools and the teaching profession, by offering new tools and modifying certain practices.

A century ago, society entered the Roaring Twenties, a time marked by excess, overconsumption, and strong belief in endless prosperity. Many people thought that nothing would go wrong, until that illusion collapsed in 1929 with the Great Depression. In our day and age, a similar image of excess can be noticed, not in our economy but in the digital world. Social media platforms create an impression of connection, productivity, and entertainment without consequences. However, beneath this surface, there is a growing cognitive and psychological cost. And the term used to describe this issue is “brain rot.”
