Sam Korobkin is thrilled to be performing in this brilliantly adapted version of John Cheever’s short story The Enormous Radio. Having performed in many stage plays such as I Do Believe in Fairies, The Untold Yippie Project, and Sam Shephard’s A Lie of the Mind, Sam Korobkin was admittedly nervous working on his first ever radio play. However, after hours of meticulous audio engineering, and excellent examples of ensemble collaboration, Sam Korobkin is excited to present The Enormous Radio. Sam would like to the thank the entire faculty and staff at Pace University.

Taylor Larson was born and will die in Lake Oswego, Oregon. While Taylor had two older siblings, their advanced age meant after a time he grew up alone. Taylor learned a lot from his older siblings, like how to get away with things mom and dad don’t need to know about, because of this he thrived in his theater community.
When Taylor was deciding what to study for college it was his mother's dentist who suggested they allow him to pursue acting. With clean teeth and a dream, he set out for Pace University where he is currently finishing up his degree. Some credits include Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, KJ in The Aliens, Brutus in Julius Caesar. Taylor is beyond thrilled to be a part of this amazing creative team and can’t wait to see where all of its members end up one day.

Often referred to as the "Chekhov of the suburbs", John Cheever was one of the most important American authors of short stories. Observant and razor-sharp, his stories document the sadomasochism of ordinariness. "The Enormous Radio", written in 1947 and published in The New Yorker, is a typical example of Cheever's Domestic Gothic style.
Our ensemble has worked since March of 2020 to adapt Cheever's story as a work of theatre. When the COVID-19 Pandemic hit, we decided to make the work into an audio play, both created and recorded remotely. The finished product was presented through the N.O.W. Fest at Pace University in February of 2021. It is now available for free for all to download and listen.
This work was created in the BA Acting and BA Directing International Performance Ensemble Program at Pace University.
This is a free audio event and is not intended to be sold.
