How far in advance should I place my order?
We recommend placing custom cake orders at least 2–4 weeks in advance. For weddings or large events, booking 2–3 months ahead is ideal to ensure availability. You may be able to order a cake to be rushed depending on availability, and it will be subject to a rush fee.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date. The remaining balance is typically due 7 days before pickup or delivery.
Do you make gluten-free, vegan, or allergy-friendly cakes?
We may offer gluten-free, vegan, or allergy-friendly cakes depending on availability and severity of the allergy. All cakes are baked in a peanut-free kitchen. Please note that all cakes are made in a kitchen that handles allergens like dairy, tree nuts, and gluten. We cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free product.
Can I send you a photo for inspiration?
Absolutely! While it is impossible to recreate another cake artist's work exactly, we’re happy to use your inspiration photos as a reference to create something uniquely yours.
Do you deliver?
Yes, we offer delivery for an additional fee based on distance. Delivery is recommended for wedding cakes or tiered designs.
How should I store my cake before serving?
Keep your cake refrigerated until about 1–2 hours before serving, depending on room temperature. We’ll provide care instructions when you pick up your order.
What’s your cancellation or refund policy?
Cancellations made 14 days before the event may be eligible for a partial refund, excluding the deposit. After that window, refunds are not available due to time and materials already invested.
Do you offer smash cakes or cupcakes?
Yes! We offer 4 inch or 6 inch smash cakes for first birthdays, as well as cupcakes.
How do you accept payment?
At this time we accept Venmo as payment. We do not accept personal checks. Cash may be accepted as well if you pay in full ahead of time.
Why are custom cakes more expensive than cakes from a grocery store?
We make everything from scratch, with no box mixes and no bulk batches. That means that each cake is given 100% of our attention and individually made to match your needs. It takes hours to plan, bake, assemble, decorate, and deliver each cake. Intricate designs like handmade edible decorations can take hours to create. Custom bakers use premium ingredients and customize the cake to fit your vision for your event. If you're buying a custom cake, you're not just buying dessert — you're commissioning edible art tailored to you.
What factors into how you price your cakes?
There are a lot of factors that go into cake pricing, including:
Recipe complexity - more complex or specialty recipes will cost more
Ingredients - the more complex a recipe, the more specialized ingredients and more expensive it will be to create the cake
Design style - a basic design with less decor will be cheaper than something more complex such as a cake with all handmade decorations or a tiered cake
Time and labor - the time it takes to consult with clients, shop or order ingredients, bake a cake, assemble the cake, cleanup, decorate and deliver it will all factor in
Packaging and materials - cake boxes, cake boards, dowels, stickers, etc.
Delivery - time and mileage to deliver the cake
Overhead costs - utilities used such as electricity and water, and equipment maintenance such as mixers/ovens
