SUNGHOON

Park Sung-hoon, known monomously as Sunghoon, is a South Korean singer and former figure skater. He competed as a figure skater from 2010 to early 2020; while simultaneously he was a trainee since 2018. He retired from the sport and debuted as a member of the South Korean boy band Enhypen in November 2020. Sunghoon is the 2016, 2017 junior silver medalist and the 2015 novice gold medalist of Asian Figure Skating Trophy and the 2015 novice gold medalist of Lombardia Trophy. He also won silver medals at the 2013 novice competition and the 2014 junior competition of South Korean Figure Skating Championships.

PRE-DEBUT

• Sunghoon is from Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.

• He has a sister who is five years younger.

• He was a former competitive figure skater who competed both nationally and internationally for 10 years. He passed all 8 Figure Skating Levels before retiring in early 2020. 

• He had severe amblyopia as a child, making it difficult for him to see with his right eye.

• Sunghoon started out with playing Ice Hockey to improve his social skills but turned to figure skating when he was nine years old, after his parents recommended it to him. 

• In 2014 he appeared on the SBS program “Crayon in my Mind“, where producers followed him around for a week to capture the daily life of a young male figure skater.

• He was scouted by BigHit in 2018 and trained there for 2 years and 1 month before entering the survival show program I-Land.

• Sunghoon was casted through Instagram DMs. 

• Initially, Sunghoon had no intentions of being an idol and trained only to improve his dance and figure skating skills, but he later fell in love with it and decided to change careers.

• Sunghoon did Ballet when he was 10 years old. 

• He has a French poodle named Gaeul, which translates to Autumn in English

HOBBIES AND SKILLS

• At MAMA 2020 Sunghoon did the intro for their performance that showcased his skating skills. 

• He became an official MC for Music Bank on October 8, 2021.

• He was chosen as a Dance Representative during I-Land.

• During I-Land, Sunghoon was praised by the producers for being the most natural with his facial expressions and being able to pull the attention to him on parts that aren’t even his.

• Sunghoon has been called called “Expert of Fancam” by many people.
