Engrow ("we", "our", "the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is processed, and what rights you have when using the app.
Engrow is a language-learning app that runs locally on your device. The app does not require registration, sign-in, or a user account. All of your learning data, progress, achievements, and personal activity are stored directly on your device in a local database (SQLite) and are not synced to our servers.

This data is never transmitted to any server and exists only on your device. If you uninstall the app, this data is permanently deleted.
Some features require AI processing and must send data to a server to function:
AI Chat (Lexi Chat): the text messages you send to the AI assistant
Speech-to-Text: voice recordings when you use speaking-practice or voice-call features
Text-to-Speech: text that is converted into spoken audio responses
These requests are sent to our AI systems for processing and the results are returned immediately. The app has no account or login system, so these requests do not carry any personally identifying information (no session token, no linkage to a specific user account).
Certain learning content (YouTube videos, news, podcasts, books) is fetched through our intermediary server from third-party sources for display in the app. This is solely to load content and does not collect additional personal data about you.
No email, password, or phone number
No account system, no server-side identity profile
No location tracking (GPS)
No contacts, photos, or other personal data beyond what's described above
Data processed through our servers (sections 2.2, 2.3) is used only to:
Generate responses for the AI chat and speaking-practice features
Convert speech to text and text to speech
Deliver requested learning content
We do not use your chat/voice content to sell advertising or share it with third parties beyond what is needed to operate the AI features.
Learning data: stored locally on your device, protected by the OS-level sandbox (iOS/Android)
Data sent to AI servers: transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS); not retained long-term in a way that's tied to your identity
We apply reasonable security measures to prevent unauthorized access
Since there is no account, control over your data lies entirely with your device:
Delete all data: uninstall the app
Stop AI processing: simply don't use the chat/voice features
You may contact us to ask about data processed through our AI servers (note: since no identity is stored, our ability to respond to specific requests may be limited)
The app does not collect personally identifying information, so it is broadly usable across age groups. If the app is intended for children under 13 in jurisdictions requiring COPPA or equivalent protections, parental supervision is recommended for the AI chat/voice features, since that content is processed by an external server.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
