At the beginning of January, I went to College of Coastal Georgia fresh out of high school. One of my challenges was facing was English composition and all the daunting tasks that were around English composition and how much I had to write in the class. On the first day, it was a bit overwhelming. Seeing what kind of professors I would get, and hoping that they were not so strict. Well, After meeting Dr. McGinnis she was not as if talking to a wall, and she was understandable. Next, I saw the course plan and was a little intimidated and seeing how much we had to And it looks really interesting. I got to admit I thought about dropping the course after seeing what we had to do for the semester.
The first project, rhetoric and how it affects me. I think it was really fun, but also really hard because I never had to think about myself that much. It was a challenge to get out of my comfort zone and go through something new. Then, project 2 rolled around and I was taken for a loop because I never had to do a podcast before but was willing to give it a try and ended up enjoying the project. When project 3 came around, I was at first hesitant and hoping my group mates were nice and chill. We got working on the project and my group is a cohesive unit and made the project fun, and I wouldn’t change my group for anything. Project four came around and I was wondering how are we going to find this but low and behold Carl's Jr. had released this Ad Called Tex/ Mex burger, and it made it somewhat easy to evaluate. Through all this, I started to notice that the stuff I was uncomfortable with like talking about myself or seeing from others perspectives. I think that's the whole point of this course was to try to get all of us out of our comfort zones and make us think. This semester felt as if I was pushed past my comfort zone. It feels great to be pushed. This class has been one of my favorite classes this semester because of the challenges and how they pushed me to be out of my comfort zone.
Thank you, Dr. McGinnis
