In my podcast today, I will be analyzing the author’s viewpoint, attitude, and the main point of the article “Gen Z’s telling nostalgia for Bennifer, ‘Friends’ and Y2K” by Holly Thomas. We will be looking at the article's focus on Gen Z and their fascination with the time they grew up in, particularly parts of their youth that they may not even remember, like Y2K. We will also examine how Gen Z's are integrating parts of their youth into their social media and romanticizing it. We will look at both positive and negative aspects of Gen Z's fascination with their youth. I believe this article will be of interest to college students because we are part of Gen Z. That is why it caught my attention. I think this article can be relevant to all people, not just Gen Z. The author of this articles is a millennial so it will be interesting to look at her take on our generation. As we look through this opinion piece we will see if Thomas is fond of Gen Z’s or making fun of them. As you listen to my podcast, you can decide if you agree with my take on the article.
