Shawn (00:01):
Hey, everybody. Welcome back to English All Over the Place, your one-stop English language podcast for practicing and listening to English and all sorts of fun stuff here. As alway, I am your host Shawn De Haven, along with my wonderful cohost...
Barney (00:21):
Hey, I am the wonderful Barney.
Shawn (00:24):
Hey, you didn't use your catch phrase.
Barney (00:26):
Well, I think you guys know what you can call me by now.
Shawn (00:28):
Oh man. I'm so uncomfortable now. It's like, something's wrong? Um, so, so, uh, Barney, tell us, tell us what our wonderful users can access.
Barney (00:45):
Yes. Right. Um, in, in addition to listening to this wonderful podcast, no, everybody, that's not all! We are teachers at heart and, uh, we have gone through, um, the effort to make transcripts available, quizzes, um, vocabulary through the form of flashcards, all to help you guys really honestly qualify this as educational and to get the most out of it.
Shawn (01:15):
Yes, but if you just want to enjoy it, that's okay too.
Barney (01:19):
Hey, that is okay, too. If you think your English is up to snuff, you know, people in the U S and whatnot, um, just listen along.
Shawn (01:25):
And if you're a native speaker and you want to listen to us, we welcome your listening as well. I mean, the more the merrier guys
Barney (01:34):
And, and hey, that's why we also have the survey. Um, we're happy to hear your thoughts and your questions, your ideas for future episodes. Just check out that link that is in the description for this podcast.
Shawn (01:47):
All right. And, but where can I find the podcast? It's so hard to find. (I know) What is it on?
Barney (01:53):
It takes time. It takes time.
Shawn (01:53):
No, it's on Spotify.
Barney (01:55):
It's on Spotify. It's on Google. It's on some services that we've never heard of before.
Shawn (01:59):
Zune. I believe. (Just squeeze it on over.) Uh, I believe I found it on Ask Jeeves, but, uh, and, uh, and, uh, (excite dot com) and Netscape Netscape has it too. So I'm really happy we made their top page. Um, but a lot of broken links on that top page, but some broken images, um, Netscape, look it up people. It used to be a great browser. Um, yeah, I loved it at the beginning. So Barney, how have you been lately?
Barney (02:33):
Yeah, things are going well. Um, you know, I'm, I have, I talked about a while ago, I have this job with all this free time, but I'm still so busy. And, um, my kids keep me even busier.
Shawn (02:47):
I told you locks on doors. It's a good thing. You know, it'll make them be inventive and, and kind of figure out how to get in there.
Barney (02:59):
Yeah. They, they have worked on that already. Yes, that's true.
Shawn (03:03):
So, Barney, have you gotten the vaccine?
Barney (03:07):
I am halfway home. I have, yeah. Uh, nine days left until round two.
Shawn (03:15):
All right. So everybody go over to his house and infect him. Um, (it's your last), if you're in the area and by the way, um, uh, for those of you who are joining us maybe for the first time and don't know myself and Barney, uh, we are English teachers in Japan and, uh, although we used to live in the same town, um, I'm speaking to you from Tokyo, uh, Western Tokyo near Tachikawa and Barney. Where are you?
Barney (03:44):
Eastern Chiba. So if you come, when you fly into Japan, chances are you're flying into Narita. Make sure to wave on the descent. I'll see you. I promise.
Shawn (03:55):
Are you outside looking that whole time?
Barney (03:58):
I know. Hey, there's a lot of interesting planes flying.
Shawn (04:00):
The neighbors are talking. "Mom, that strange American is , that strange gaikokujin is on his lawn again."
Barney (04:08):
"His binoculars, it's just for the planes."
Shawn (04:11):
Now the laser pointers, I think you should stop that. You could get in some serious trouble there.
Barney (04:17):
The FAA, they warned me already. So
Shawn (04:19):
The FAA, they have an FAA here too. Okay. I don't know what they call it in Japan. Um, but anyway, um, uh, so you're halfway there. That's good. Um, uh, thanks to my wife's ingenuity and finding, um, it's not easy guys actually to get the vaccine here. So, um, just tell the people, ask the people in Shibuya and, uh, um, but I had the second shot a few weeks ago, two weeks ago. So now I am, I believe I'm invincible, um, Bulletproof, you know, faster than a speeding bullet. I don't know.
Barney (04:58):
Right. Don't put it to the test.
Shawn (05:00):
No, no, no, no, no. Um, yeah, so I, if you're listening and you, and you haven't had the vaccine yet, and you can go out and get it. (Right. Uh, I agree.) And, uh, don't take any medicine where there's horses on the package. Okay.
Barney (05:17):
I saw that too.
Shawn (05:19):
Yes. Oh my gosh. Humanity is doomed. These people and I'm sorry, we might lose some listeners, but I'm okay with that. Um, you know, there's that one guy in Nevada, but, um, come on, you don't trust the CDC, but you trust Mr. Ed, you know, I just, uh, anyway, So Barney, what are we talking about today?
Barney (05:45):
Yeah. Um, I feel that, um, in the time that we've talked with our students, you know, we, we noticed they kind of get in a RET and, um, we serve the public, you know, PSA, to, um, encourage them to broaden their horizons and, um, find some new entertainment that, uh, we are sure that they'll get into. We like it. If we like it, who doesn't like it? That's entertainment part two.
Shawn (06:18):
Yes. Yes. We did a part one last year where we plugged. Um, I think I plugged one Netflix movie, um, uh, the movie, the Amazon prime series, "Upload," still waiting for season two. You, you plugged a-- Yeah, they're uploading it. They must be using a pretty bad modem, you know, at 14 K per- Oh no, this is going to take forever.
Barney (06:45):
I'm getting a call!
Shawn (06:47):
Mom, hang up. What is this screeching sound on the phone? Um, but Upload is an excellent series, if you get a chance to catch it. I can't wait to see this second season whenever it comes. Um, uh, so I love TV. You love TV when you-- I'm sure when you get a chance. Um, the first thing I'm just going to talk about a few series that we, I love here. Um, Brooklyn Nine Nine, which is on Netflix. Um, I believe it's on Peacock in the United States, uh, very, fun police comedy, a sit-com is what they call it. Unfortunately, it's in his last season. So as I watch the episodes, I'm happy to see them, but I know we're just that much closer to the end, but it's on Netflix so catch it if you can, Brooklyn Nine Nine, and nine is spelled with the word nine, 9, 9, but it should come up. Um, I saw "Free Guy," which was excellent. Maybe the, maybe the only good video game movie I've seen. Um, uh, yeah, it really captured, I can't wait to see it again. Um, Suicide, "The Suicide Squad," excuse me. Not "Suicide Squad," "the Suicide Squad," different movie. Um, uh, excellent. Uh, bloody, uh, don't show -- don't take the kids. Um, but it is very funny. Um, it's the best that it can be for the kind of movie it is. "The suicide squad." Yes. Yeah.
Barney (08:22):
When you told me that you liked it. I was-- that It was good. I was surprised because I saw the previous one, thankfully on the plane
Shawn (08:30):
And I saw the right one.
Barney (08:32):
I still want those two hours or however long it was back from somebody. Is that possible?
Shawn (08:38):
I watched it on the plane, but two rows away. I was like, you know, somebody else is watching on the screen, you ever do this? You're like, "Oh, what's that guy watching?" It's amazing how much you can figure out without the sound.
Barney (08:52):
Maybe I don't need to watch that one.
Shawn (08:54):
And there's always that one person, you're like, "What movie is that?" You're like flicking through here.
Barney (09:00):
It's, it's in like the international...
Shawn (09:01):
Something with Jackie Chan. I don't understand that.
Barney (09:05):
Is it going to be in English?
Shawn (09:08):
So, uh, besides Brooklyn Nine, Nine, Free Guy, uh, The Suicide Squad, uh, um, back for its second season is Ted Lasso on Apple TV and people are like, "Oh, I don't have Apple TV." Ah, this makes it worth it. (Yeah really.) You've seen the first season. What'd you think of that?
Barney (09:33):
Oh boy. Um, I guess he was, um, started as a character to promote soccer on, on NBC, right? (Yes, yes, yes.) And then they decided to turn it into a show and boy, am I glad that they did, there's so much to like about the writing the story and of course the characters.
Shawn (09:54):
Yes, yes, yes. Um, and if it's, it's about a, uh, football coach who takes a wild leap and goes to England to coach a premier league soccer team, the other football. A fish out of the water, a fish out of water story. Um, but last year it became so popular because, uh, the main character Ted last was just so positive. And of course with COVID people needed something positive and all this ugliness that's going on still. Um, the second season is out, um, uh, Barney. You don't have Apple TV yet?
Barney (10:34):
No, right. Not yet.
Shawn (10:36):
Um, but uh, it's worth it. Uh, it's still very good, very good, very interesting characters, some new characters, some character development. Um, and by the way, if you're not into soccer and don't worry about it, there's not a lot of soccer in the show. There's enough, there's enough, but it's mainly about, uh, relationships between the people and, uh, and the second season takes on some issues, uh, um, like mental health and other things that are interesting. Um, I I'm interested to see where it goes. So, but after each episode you're saying, oh man, that's the best one since the last one I saw and they recently had a Christmas episode, which was just fantastic. And, um, you just, you just want to live in their town and work with them. These characters are just brilliant anyway. So if you can catch Ted Lasso and trust me, many people have written about this show. So if you want to read more about it, just go online, especially last year, Ted Lasso. So Barney, what do you have for us
Barney (11:46):
Yeah, um, I'm, I'm going to go back in time a bit. I actually, I actually always, speaking of transcripts,
Shawn (11:54):
"Marty, it's about your kids!"
Barney (11:58):
Are they okay? I was reviewing the transcript from our last episode going in time. And, um, uh, so Shawn was saying that he and I are both in Japan, what I should add that, um, we are doing these episodes late at night, these days. And I'm looking at the transcript about the Bond episode. I'm, I'm this, you know, Bond aficionado, I guess I, one, I mistakenly said that Pierce Brosnan was in Goldfinger (haha) Goldeneye
Shawn (12:31):
Goldfinger. Ew.
Barney (12:34):
And then two, I was like, I'm going on and on about this, um, uh, Roger Moore would be that I like, and I said, it's "the Spy Who Loved Me" and of course I was hoping meaning to talk about, um, uh, "For Your- For Your Eyes Only."
Shawn (12:51):
Oh my gosh. And I watched the movie on your recommendation. It sucked!
Barney (12:55):
That's what I was hoping. We've got to get this episode out so that people don't make that mistake. I did get it right that the, uh, the underwater Lotus is in, um, "the Spy Who Loved Me." But,
Shawn (13:08):
No, that's the most important thing.
Barney (13:10):
Um, a little bit more recent, but not quite up to our current era, um, I recently had the chance to watch, um, Jurassic Park again,
Shawn (13:22):
Ah, back to the nineties.
Barney (13:24):
Yeah. The first hour - 8 times. Um,
Shawn (13:28):
Hm, what?
Barney (13:29):
Yeah, it was related to work. Um, yeah, I was like, I'm going to get myself to do this challenge, you know, enough of this -- eating tide pods and things like that.
Shawn (13:41):
Okay. Yeah. I'm happy. I'm having flashbacks of me working at Suncoast Video and playing whatever hit movie it is continuously for the whole day. I still remember Forrest Gump.
Barney (13:53):
Yeah, no more ice bucket challenge for me. I was the, uh, no, um, and also don't eat tide pods, but, um, um, yeah, so I thought.
I'm going to read the book and, um, thankfully in the U S um, if you have a library card, you know, even if you're overseas, you can download books, um, through your library, usually for three weeks at a time, um, you know, on Kindle or even online.
Shawn (14:23):
So you're downloading books from your local library in, in Ohio?
Barney (14:27):
Yeah, yeah. And, um, and the book is surprisingly different. Um, very, very much so in a number of ways, um, especially the ending than the movie and, (The ending is different?) uh, is, uh, um, in, in the movie, uh, Grant, Dr. Grant, he doesn't like kids, but in the book, he really likes kids.
Shawn (14:54):
I'm kind of glad they changed that.
Barney (14:56):
Yeah. The, the way the changes that they made actually in the movie are really nice.
Shawn (15:00):
'Cause it would, you know, there'll be no conflict from the beginning. "Hey, kids, love you! Let's go!"
Barney (15:04):
"Yeah, I'm going to protect you guys." But, um, so, so this recommending Jurassic Park is nothing new. Um, uh, from August here in Japan, um, uh, finally, uh, digital loans are available. Um, it's only two weeks that you get the book for, (read fast!) but I really recommend, um, you know, using this service, you know, since we are here to help you learn English, especially Kindle is great. Um, it has, um, an, a dictionary that is, that is installed with the app, downloaded with app, so you highlight a word if you don't know it, um, and it gives you the definition. Um, they can actually translate words and, um, you can even make flashcards, uh, when you're reading and of course you can make highlights and, um, and it saves them and you can even download the highlights that you've made. So if there's any book, any movie that you've really like, you know, I'm talking to all of you guys out there who say that you love Harry Potter, but have never read the books. Um, give it a try. And if you have to, um, you know, rent or borrow the book two or three or four times, you know, since you only have two weeks to try it, you know, why not?
Shawn (16:23):
All right. Um, so Barney, with your, with your hot, your high-tech take on something old. Yeah. Kind of interesting. (That's a good way to put it.) Um, that's yeah. Um, I mean, I do have a few things on it Kindle, but not too much. Um, I used to have the actual Kindle by itself, but I don't now.
Barney (16:45):
I, um, I had the one that has, um, 3g. I still have it. And, um, it saved my bacon a number of times when I am traveling in, in some airport and I can flip on the 3g and write emails to people. I tell them, yeah, "You've got to come pick me up! My flight has changed."
Shawn (17:04):
"And, and have you read Jurassic Park? The ending is different." It doesn't quite sound as, as urgent when you put that part in there, it's like, "Oh, Barney's in trouble, Jurassic Park? Hmm. Let me take a look at that first. He'll be okay at the airport." Um, so you guys are gonna think I work for Apple TV and I certainly do not, because until recently, the only thing I was interested in on Apple TV was, uh, Ted Lasso. And a lot of people, the joke was like, "I'm not subscribing to Apple TV. I'm subscribing to Ted Lasso." (Oh yeah.) Some people are saying that, but, uh, um, Barney, do you like musicals?
Barney (17:46):
Oh yeah. Actually I really do.
Shawn (17:49):
Well. I don't, which is funny. Anyway, it's, it's funny because I am recommending a series that is about musicals. Um, it's a musical itself. Schmigadoon! Schmigadoon!, and that's a play on, um, Brigadoon, which was a famous musical. Um, it's a, it's a really innovative six part series on, um, it's a comedy, um, and musical on Apple TV. And it is just so, so well done. Um, basically it follows these two doctors in modern day America right now, current times, um, played by, uh, Keegan Michael Key, who's famous from Key and Peele and, uh, Cecilia Strong, who is a very funny cast member on Saturday Night Live. Uh, she does a great drunk impression of, uh, the judge woman from, uh, Fox News, a crazy one. Um, but they are two doctors who have been a couple for about four years and kind of they're, they're kind of in a rut. So she takes them along on this, uh, couples retreat, where couples go in the forest and they hike and they, and they kind of, uh, find each other again. And, uh, they get into a fight and while they're hiking and, you know, and then they get a little lost and then they stumble upon this strange town in the middle of the forest.
Shawn (19:28):
Yeah. And, uh, some people would probably recognize this if, you know, Brigadoon, this is similar to the product Brigadoon and they, and they walk into this walk across this bridge, into this magical town where everything looks like a set from the 1940s or 50s musicals. And everybody is -- all the town's folk are very sincere and they're singing along. And at first they think it's kind of a funny, um, tourist trap or something like that, some attraction, but then they realize that they can't get out of the town, uh, because once they cross that bridge again to go back, it just goes right back into the town. So the only way that they can get out of this town is to cross that bridge with their true love. And, and they try it once together and it doesn't work. So the rest of the series is them interacting with the town's folk, different conflicts and things like that. And the songs are hilarious because they, the people that made this series really know musicals, things like the Music Man, Oklahoma. So anyway, I mean, they just have, they have all these musicals, as you can see influenced the songs and the actions, the characters and things like that. And you're like, Hey, I kind of know that one, that character and that person, this, you know, it's from the forties, it's from the fifties, really a high time of musicals that a lot of them became movies too. Right. So, um, I know most of that from that, uh, stuff like the Sound of Music also. Um, and one of the funniest songs in one of the episodes was when, um, Melissa, that's the female doctor's name, she goes to help out a woman in the town. That's been cast out of the town because she's pregnant and unmarried. And she goes and talks to her and her boyfriend, uh, um, and, uh, she, uh, finds out that they don't really know a lot about sex. So she sings them a song. And the set looks like the Sound of Music. It looks like they're up in the mountains, little cabin. Okay. So, so I'm going to show you a song here that is bound to be on the playlist of every sex ed teacher for the next 20 years. So here we go with a song from Schmigadoon! Let's see if this works here we go.
(22:08):
(Plays clip from Schmigadoon!)
Shawn (23:21):
Everybody sing along! The vagina! (Hey.) You can really see the, the Sound of Music influence here. She has the guitar she's up in the mountains, singing to the kids. It's a "Do Re Mi" (yeah.) A riff on that. And the rest of the show is just as well done, just as done, done as well. And funny songs, um, some touching moments, a lot of, and the two characters, the two doctors are often like the, um, th th the modern people they're like, wait a minute. Why are you doing that? Uh, boy, women were really underwritten back then, you know, so they're the every man.
Barney (24:05):
And it's only, um, it's only a six part. (Yes, it's perfect.) You've seen it-- you've already seen the whole thing?
Shawn (24:12):
At least twice. (Wow) And, um, I'm not into musicals, but this is well done. You can tell it's people that love musicals, but also understand how goofy, and especially the musicals from this era, how weird they can be, you know, it's really inside. And I'm going to put a link up to, um, uh, a YouTube series of a guy that recaps every episode. And he talks about every Easter egg. And it is really funny and very educational because I missed a lot of these things. Cause I'm just a very casual, uh, musical viewer. So, uh, definitely worth checking out on, on Apple TV, Schmigadoon! after you watch all that, the Ted Lasso episodes tune in for six episodes of Schmigadoon! Yes. So Barney, do you have anything else for us?
Barney (25:10):
Yeah. Um, kind of hearkening back again to, um, our first, uh, take at, um, talking about entertainment at that time, remember I talked about that weird, um, but very fun app, um, with the incredibly long name that nobody can remember. Um, and so I thought this time too, I, I stumbled upon a really interesting video game. Um, this one, unfortunately it's not available on your, you know, iPhones, but, um, if you have, um, an Apple iPad Pro or, um, a Surface Pro or something like that, you know, uh, two in one tablet, you can still play that -- this on there. So, um, you don't have to have a desktop.
Shawn (25:50):
You can't play it on the iPhone?
Barney (25:53):
No, it's not. Um, it's, it's not a mobile app, it's an actual, you know, um, video game, um, that you can get through, um, Steam.
Shawn (26:03):
What's it called?
Barney (26:06):
Steam. It's a video game service and the game is called, uh, Unheard.
Shawn (26:12):
Unheard?
Barney (26:14):
Yeah. And this is perfect for you, challenging yourself with your listening comprehension. Um, so first listen to our podcast all the way through and then, um, do "Unheard." And, um, the premise is you're a detective and there's this new technology where you can hear everything that happened at a crime scene. So you can't see anything. You can only hear what happened and like a fly on the wall, fly in the wall, a blind fly on the wall.
Shawn (26:48):
A blind fly on the wall? "Bzzz. Bump! Ow!"
Barney (26:53):
Maybe you have like, um, a list of possible suspects. Um, but no one says their names, but, you know, like they might refer to, "Oh yeah, four eyes over there," you know, where I had a time with, you know, um, you know, um, you know, like I can kind of kind of common nicknames that we might use for people. And you have to listen to hear the clues. And, um, it's a number of different crimes that you have to try to piece together. Who is this that's talking? Who is that, that they're talking to? Um, who is telling the truth? You know, and who's just lying and try to figure out, um, you know, the person who ultimately is guilty.
Shawn (27:35):
Oh, sounds like a very hard listening test.
Barney (27:37):
Yeah.
Shawn (27:38):
What do you, what are you looking at while you're hearing these sounds? What's on the screen?
Barney (27:43):
Yeah. Right. So you have, um, kind of like, um, a map of, you know, like a layout, a layout of the room that it took place in. Um, but you don't necessarily know where everyone is in that room. Um, and then you have, um, you know, like you have clues or things that like, that were found, um, at, at the crime scene. Um, and then, um, so, you know, based on the things that you found it afterward, um, you are able to, you know, through this technology, you know, suspend your disbelief here for a minute, you're able to go back and listen to what took place, um, at the, at the scene of the crime.
Shawn (28:22):
Oh, so maybe you hear a fart and you're like, "Whose fart was that?" You know.
Barney (28:28):
The evidence kit says that something was smelling of sulfur.
Shawn (28:36):
Yes. Yeah. There was a Mexican food truck down the street, perhaps they came from there. Um,
Barney (28:43):
Yeah. So it could be something like that. You know, you find out through conversation that, that somebody really likes burritos and, uh, yeah, it have been that guy. It might have been big, big Jim, you know,
Shawn (28:57):
Hey, Hey, it's not always the big guy. Maybe it's the small woman in the back or something.
Barney (29:03):
Right. She just really can eat.
Shawn (29:05):
I mean, I had this really dainty, Filipino high school student, and she could burp like a trucker, you know, if you just close your eyes, when you hear burping, you'd think it was like some 200 pound redneck or something. Yeah.
Barney (29:22):
That must've been a good class that they felt comfortable to do that.
Shawn (29:25):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes. I believe I told her nobody will ever marry you. As a joke! As a joke! So was like, "Oh, sensei!" But they knew me. They knew my character, so it fit with the class. Um, you know, but, uh, you know, I mean, I mean, nobody was, nobody was saying like, you know, (You're not a nice person!) No, but they weren't, but they understood. (Yeah. Right.) But, uh, yeah, I forgot about the soundboard. We're just talking these deep discussions, you know, and I gotta, I gotta, you know, right. Do it here. So, you know, there's such a, there's so many touching moments in Ted Talks -- in Ted Lasso. So yeah. You just have to know that doesn't really work there. How much does this game cost?
Barney (30:14):
Yeah. Um, let's see. It's it's um, uh, it's actually, it's been out for a while, so, um, I haven't checked the price, but I would imagine that, um, I think it's like a thousand yen
Shawn (30:27):
Or so you paid a thousand to play it?
Barney (30:30):
Um, I haven't played it.
Shawn (30:31):
You haven't played it!? Wow. You heard it here, folks, here first.
Barney (30:38):
I stumbled upon it. Right.
Shawn (30:39):
Go see this movie that I haven't seen yet.
Barney (30:44):
Yeah. Um, no, but, um, but I've read, I've read the reviews and I've seen, I've seen about the game and I thought, well, um, I mean, come on. Do I have any time?
Shawn (30:56):
Yes. I was wondering, like reading a book again. I'm like, wait, do you have two little kids? What are you doing? Reading a book that you already know the story.
Barney (31:04):
Well, hey, that's what the train is for.
Shawn (31:07):
Yes. It is good to have a commute. Sometimes we can catch up on things here, but, uh, so we have, we've given you a lot of options today. Uh, Ted Lasso, uh, Schmigadoon!, both are on Amazon, excuse me, Apple TV. Um, as I drop an expensive thing here, um, you, uh, you, you talked about, um, Jurassic Park and, and, uh, eBooks, um, uh, from your local library in Japan and I'm sure for our listeners abroad, um, I think that technology is expanding and hopefully it's available at your library. I mean, I never even thought about trying it. Um,
Barney (31:50):
Yeah, and it's fantastic that, um, you know, in Ohio I can borrow books from my library in Ohio here in Japan.
Shawn (31:57):
Yeah. Let's just see them get it back when it's overdue, not going to happen, not gonna happen.
Barney (32:02):
That's the whole thing. They get automatically returned.
Shawn (32:07):
Oh, yes. Which is kind of cool and mysterious, but, um, so take some time, uh, um, uh, and, uh, you know, if you have any ideas of what we'd like to hear, uh, what, what we should watch, um, please comment on Instagram or, or in the survey. Um, we'd love to hear your opinions of what to watch. Um, we might not watch it, but, uh, no, not because, not because we don't want to it's because we don't have the time. Yeah. But
Barney (32:46):
We jokingly come across as, uh, you know, being these experts, but we practice what we preach. We are more than happy to hear your recommendations.
Shawn (32:55):
Sure, sure. Um, so that's going to wrap it up for this. Uh, it's, it's kind of a low key, but a fun episode. Um, oh, and I I'll make one other recommendation here. Um, another, it's a show on iTunes also FX in the United States, What We Do in the Shadows.
Barney (33:16):
Oh yeah.
Shawn (33:17):
I've talked about this before in the podcast, season three is here and it's just as good as the first two seasons. It is really one of the funniest shows on TV today and it is about vampires, but there's not a lot of gore. It's just very, very funny. Um, uh, four vampires, uh, sharing a house with a familiar servant who is obviously the smartest person in the group, really excellent. What We Do in the Shadows. Look it up on, on iTunes or FX or other services. So that's going to wrap it up for today. Um, I hope you guys have the time to enjoy, uh, what we, uh, recommended and, uh, let us know what you think about it, you know? Um, I'm, I'm still gonna be singing the vagina song later today. You know, it's educational and it's, it's, it's catchy. (Right.) You know, so, um, you know, if you want to sing that on the train, go right ahead. Especially in the United States, it might, you might get some funny looks. I don't know.
Barney (34:34):
It wouldn't be the first person to do that on the train.
Shawn (34:36):
No, no. In New York they probably wouldn't even bat an eye. No, no. It's just some guy singing a vagina song. Okay. Okay, guys, on that-
Barney (34:48):
Yeah, take a break from your, um, hard studying and, and, uh, see the ways that you can study, you know, and have fun at the same time.
Shawn (34:55):
All right. The vagina. Okay. On that. Somewhat obscene, but actually just a scientific word, uh, note. Um, we hope to see you next time. Uh, but I don't, we're not going to see you. We hope you are with us next time. You know, I am just so slick with this here, you know, just professional, you know,
Barney (35:19):
Like I said, this is late at night for us.
Shawn (35:21):
Yes. So, but you know, the audience loves it. [audience cheering] That's enough guys. Okay. But, uh, yes. So see you next time guys. Uh, uh, from English All Over the Place, this is Shawn and
Barney (35:44):
I am Barney, and this has been a Midnight Barber's Production.
Shawn (35:49):
