Today we will be looking at an article by Roby Chatterji "Fighting Systemic Racism in K-12 Education: Helping Allies Move From the Keyboard to the School Board." We will be assessing this article for a rhetorical analysis. In this article we learn quite a bit about a rather sensitive problem that we face today. In the article, Roby explains how different factors in the school system should be changed in order for minority students to have a more fair education. In this article, we will see how advocating for equitable funding could greatly help predominantly african american schools. Not only will we look at what the author is saying but, in what way he was saying it. We will evaluate the author's tone, reason for writing it, and the intended audience he wrote this for. We can look at the evidence that he uses to support his claims as well as see if there is any bias to his statements. An evaluation of the author's use of language and his evidence will also be included in this analysis. At the end of my analysis I will include my personal opinions and evaluation of the article and will either agree or disagree with what he is saying.
