The amount of progress I have made as a writer in the short time period of the beginning to the end of the semester is amazing, to me at least. At the start of the class I was not very amused by the amount of projects we where assigned to do. Now That I have completed them all I can honestly say they helped me improve my writing skills.
Project One: This was the hardest part out of each of the projects due to the fact that we had to find scholarly sources , which I had never did before. After I completed the SIFT assignment that taught how to determine if a source was scholarly or not it become much easier to go about the project. I had the chances to utilize my MLA skills in this project while using in-text citations . The bibliography part was something I had never done before so completing that part of the project was the most interesting for me. Overall this project taught be how to find good sources and how to use and format them the correct way.
Project Two: This project was the most unique to me because it was a podcast.I had to learn to create my script the correct way and correct order being that I would be recording myself read over it. I also had to make sure the connection to the cited sources made sense to the listeners. The only part I found challenging is the actual reading part of the project because I am shy.
Project Three: The last project was a web-text and a poster to go along with it. I feel as if i learned the most with this project.I learned how to explain deeply about the sources I contributed to the group. I learned a lot from the constructive criticism that i received from my group members and the professor. This project was only time consuming because of the small things we had to prefect on our poster.Revision was greatest skill I learned from this project though.
Overall I am leaving this course with skills i did not have before I began it.
