English stress — Privacy policy
No data collection. No ads. All pronunciation processing stays on your device.
Updated: September 20, 2026
English stress marks word stress and silent letters using a dictionary bundled with the extension. It reads webpage text temporarily to display hints. It does not save page contents or browsing history, or send webpage text, personal information, preferences, or usage data to any server.
Local storage. Your on/off setting, display preferences, and ignored words are saved only in your browser’s extension local storage, without Chrome sync. Use “Restore ignored words” to clear the ignore list. Other saved settings remain until you change them, clear the extension’s local data, or remove the extension.
No collection or sharing. The extension has no accounts, analytics, trackers, advertising, remote code, or external pronunciation APIs. The developer does not collect, sell, share, or transfer user data. Locally processed text is used only for pronunciation hints, never for advertising, creditworthiness, or lending decisions.
Permissions. Website access enables automatic hints. The activeTab and scripting permissions let the popup apply controls to the current page. Storage saves your settings locally. Local file access is optional and controlled by your browser.
This policy covers the English stress extension. Google Sites, your browser, the extension store, and websites you visit have their own privacy policies.
