MetaTrader supports a nice built-in system for alerts. When some indicator issues an alert, a special window pops up, providing some useful information about the alert and its origin.
Unfortunately, when you close that window, there is no way to reopen it manually in MetaTrader.
This is where Show Alert Window script comes handy. Have you ever closed your alert window accidentally? Or have you ever needed to review previous alerts? With Show Alert Window script, you can do this in a double-click or with a simple keyboard shortcut.
Show Alert Window is a minimalistic script for MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 that issues a dummy alert to open the platform's alert window and let you see the list of past alerts.
After you download and install this script, you will be able to set a hotkey to quickly run it whenever you need to see the alert window:
You can select an optional control key and the main key to bind the script to:
This script doesn't use any DLL imports and is completely safe to use.
Please note:
If you have sounds for alerts enabled in your platform (which by default they are), there will be an alert sound each time you execute this script.
To install the script, please follow the instructions below:
Download the script file.
Open the MetaTrader 4/5 data folder (via File→Open Data Folder).
Open the MQL4 or MQL5 folder.
Copy the file to the MQL4Scripts or MQL5Scripts folder.
Restart MetaTrader 4/5 or refresh the list of scripts by right-clicking the Navigator subwindow of the platform and choosing Refresh.
You can also read a more detailed instruction on how to perform the installation.
