# QuitEnergy Privacy Policy
Effective date: 7 October 2026
QuitEnergy is an iPhone app that helps you quit energy drinks by tracking your quit date, cravings, savings and notes. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it is stored, and the choices you have. We have written it to describe exactly what the app does, nothing more.
**The short version.** Almost everything you enter stays on your phone. The app has no accounts and no sign-in. The only data that leaves your device is what is needed for in-app purchases and for push notifications, and that data is not tied to your name.
## 1. Who is responsible for your data
QuitEnergy is published by akbina, Postboks 5 Tiller, 7475 Trondheim, Norway. If you have any question about this policy or your data, email us at post@etilbud.no.
## 2. Information stored only on your device
The following information is saved in the app's private storage on your iPhone. It is not sent to us or to anyone else by the app.
- The name you enter during setup, used only to greet you on the Home screen.
- Your chosen currency, how many cans you used to drink per day, and the price per can, used to calculate cans avoided and money saved.
- Your quit date and time.
- Cravings you log: strength, the feeling you selected, the time, and any optional note.
- Journal notes you write.
- Which achievements you have unlocked.
- Whether you have an active Pro subscription, so the app can unlock Pro features offline.
Deleting the app deletes all of this information. The app does not back this data up to any server of ours. It may be included in your own iCloud or iTunes device backup, which is controlled by your Apple settings.
## 3. Information shared with service providers
The app uses two third-party services. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
**RevenueCat** receives an anonymous app user ID generated by RevenueCat, your App Store purchase receipt, and basic device information such as iOS version and device model. This is used to process and verify QuitEnergy Pro subscriptions and to restore a purchase on a new device. RevenueCat does not receive your name, notes or cravings.
**Google Firebase Cloud Messaging** receives a push notification token and an identifier for your installation of the app. The identifier is Apple's "identifier for vendor", which is specific to our apps on your device and resets if you remove all of them. The token is stored in our Firebase database so a notification can reach your device.
Payments themselves are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card or bank details. Apple's handling of purchase data is covered by Apple's privacy policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
RevenueCat's privacy policy is at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy. Google's is at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Both providers may process data on servers in the United States. Where European data protection law applies, those transfers rely on standard contractual clauses.
## 4. Notifications
The app asks for permission to send notifications. Local notifications are generated on your device when you unlock an achievement. Push notifications are sent through Firebase Cloud Messaging as described above. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings, and the app keeps working without them.
## 5. What we do not do
- We do not ask you to create an account or sign in.
- We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, health data or the advertising identifier.
- We do not use analytics or advertising networks, and we do not show ads.
- We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for marketing.
- We do not send your name, cravings, notes or settings to any server.
## 6. Things you choose to send
- **Feedback.** "Send Feedback" opens your mail app with our address filled in. Anything you write is sent by you, through your own email account.
- **Sharing.** "Share your progress" and "Share app" open the iOS share sheet with a short message. Nothing is sent unless you pick a destination and confirm.
- **Rating.** "Rate app" shows Apple's standard review prompt. Reviews are handled by Apple.
## 7. How long we keep data
- Data on your device stays until you delete it in the app or remove the app.
- Your push notification token stays in our Firebase database until you ask us to remove it or we clear inactive tokens.
- Purchase records at RevenueCat and Apple are kept for as long as needed to honour your subscription and for accounting and legal requirements.
## 8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to its processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
Because the app stores your information on your device, you can view and delete most of it yourself: Settings in the app lets you reset cravings and your quit date, and deleting the app removes everything stored locally. To have your push notification token removed from our database, or for any other request, email post@etilbud.no and we will respond within 30 days.
## 9. Children
QuitEnergy is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
## 10. Security
Data on your device is protected by iOS's app sandbox and your device passcode. Communication with RevenueCat and Firebase uses encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit what leaves your device to the minimum needed for purchases and notifications.
## 11. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
