The main focus of this workshop is Arthur’s endoscopic classification of representations of classical groups. This celebrated result is the culmination of many decades of foundational work, including the stabilization of the (twisted) trace formula and the proof of the fundamental lemma. Final outstanding ingredients necessary for Arthur’s monumental work have recently been established in a paper by Atobe, Gan, Ichino, Kaletha, Mínguez and Shin, so that the only missing piece remaining is the (twisted) weighted fundamental lemma, which is so far known only in the split case by work of Chaudouard–Laumon.
The workshop will feature both expository talks on the topic of Arthur’s endoscopic classification and its foundations, as well as research talks on recent progress on related topics.
