INSTITUTIONS INVOLVED IN PROJECT
The University of Bologna (UNIBO) is the oldest university in the Western world, founded in 1088. UNIBO is today the most internationalised of all Italian universities. Among its missions, UNIBO invests in a multidisciplinary cross-cultural approach and in the inseparable connection between research and teaching.
The research group in Physics education at the Department of Physics and Astronomy “A. Righi” (DIFA) investigates a large span of themes, including interdisciplinary and multidimensionality in STEM topics (climate change, complex systems, quantum technologies), future thinking, open-schooling, conceptual change and identity, languages and narratives for science education, the role of history and philosophy of science in physics teaching.
Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (UniSR) is a private not-for-profit University, one of the top-ranking universities in Italy for research and teaching and now counts approximately 3000 total students of which 509 are enrolled to PhDs, Master courses and Specialization schools and approximately 150 tenured teaching staff. Currently, more than 370 projects funded by National, European and International research and training programmes are active in UniSR and OSR. Among them, 5 projects funded by IMI2 and 80 projects funded by Horizon 2020.
UniSR comprises the faculties of Medicine, Psychology and Philosophy. The Faculty of Philosophy, that is involved in ENCOMPASS, offers a bachelor degree in Philosophical sciences; a Master program in Philosophy of the contemporary world, and a joint Masters (with the State University of Milano) in Philosophy, Politics and Public Affairs. Several research centers operates within the Faculty of Philosophy, among which the European Centre for Social Ethics (ECSE) and the Centre for Studies in Ethics and Politics (CeSEP).
The University of Verona is a relatively new university deeply inserted in the city context. It focuses on innovation and the quality of research and teaching, aimed at achieving a process of continuous growth, through a continuous strengthening of the link between the educational offer and the productive world.
The Department of Management is a centre of research and specialist training in the array of topics that make up the vast field of Managment, with two main focuses: business administration and agrifood economics.
