Gothikka's Mayhem on Discord

Former Vice President Gothikka, for unknown reasons, caused unrest on the region’s Discord server on Tuesday, when he did significant damage to said server, which included the deletion of all roles. In fact, a telegram was sent out to all Enadians by the perpetrator that may have been a forewarning for the soon-to-come upheaval:

Fortunately, a backup server was on hand during the repair process, with the regular up and running by the end of that week. A message was made by the (also now former) Minister of Culture East Atrilli to quell uneasiness here and in allied regions:

Resignations, Again, Sweep Government Offices

Soon after the drama, three government officials announced their resignations:

• Vice President Kanha (Diamond Confederacy)
• Minister of Defense Narravan and
• Our very own, Minister of Culture Kate of East Atrilli

The three mentioned either the recent events, real life, or the need to settle things out with our reputation and such internationally. Kate, as seen in the message cited above, has been working to resolve both internal issues and international conflict with Enadia around NationStates, through mediation, and we here at the E.M.P. and the rest of Enadia, I’m sure, wish her and the others luck in future endeavors!

EU|04 Elections; Founder Account Handed Over

Seeing a severe gap in ministerial presence, snap elections were announced for Friday, May 4th, 2018. The new cabinet was announced was announced Sunday, May 6th, 2018:

Under the results was the announcement that Harry Tsoukla had decided to step away from his founder’s account of Latrovia. The role of founder is apparently now ceremonial, presumably to preserve people’s power and transparency. Harry later made an announcement confirming the report.

It should be noted that some votes were thrown out due to to the following reasons:

• The vote was not that of an EU Citizen
• The vote cast multiple responses for the same question (e.g. voted for both candidates in a race

The people who run our elections kindly encourage you as a politically active citizen to, in fact, become an official citizen and vote for only one candidate with each question.

As part of an effort led by our region called “EU|Aid”, which is a massive brainstorming effort for Enadia and allied regions to interdependently use each other’s resources for the good of the people, the first L.C.R.U.A. law students and professor hopefuls were welcomed to Luxford University.

In that same announcement on the E.U. Embassy Thread of the NationStates Forum, was news of Enadia’s participation in A.I.R.’s G-8 summit. More details will come as the E.M.P gathers them for the next issue.

Enadian Union Breaks Ties With C.I.S.

On Sunday, the E.U. Office of Foreign Affairs made statement in which it cut all diplomatic ties with the Council of Islamic States for promoting “violently homophobic messages both within their region and across the N.S. world.” The O.F.A. further pointed out that such behavior “was conducted in a breech of all civility and without regard to the feelings of those it was likely to offend.” For that reason, the C.I.S. will no longer have special diplomatic ties with the E.U., according the full statement that can be found here:

WA-wide Telegram Makes Storm

THIS IS A COLUMN FOR THE ENADIAN GOVERNMENT TO SEND A MESSAGE TO ALL IN THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY WHO ARE READING THIS NEWSPAPER.

A recruitment telegram was recently sent to all World Assembly members, which made left many in the international community, particularly our allies, quite angry. We would like to apologize to those who were offended by our large-scale recruitment mishap, and want to say that we meant no ill harm against our allies. We would also like to apologize for the inconvenience brought to some of those already a part of the Enadian family; we realize that they only see such recruitment telegrams as pesky spam. Lastly, the E.U. wishes to thank those abroad who have cooperated with us and, again, wish no ill harm in our telegram campaigns. We are doing everything possible to make sure something like this does not happen again while still being able to welcome new Enadians to our family; in the meantime, thank you for understanding.

Green Africa, Sunday, May 5th, 2018

Hi, how are you? Really sucks, huh, all of this negative stuff in the news? It’s almost as if real life came onto the cyberworld. No, this isn’t my way of campaigning for MoC, because at the time of this writing I am pretty confidently in the lead. This is also not my way of stalling to fill up space because I wasn’t able to interview anyone...ok, it is, but you’re going to enjoy this. Come...sit, son (or darling, since it’s 2018 and it isn’t just sons who get talked to by their awkward dads). I know I’m the wrong one to be talking as a father figure to the region, but imagine how awkward Lat would be, I mean, am I right or am I right? Ahahaha! All joking aside, let me fully introduce myself.

I am obviously Green Africa...you know, the guy on Discord in the green and yellow star. I started in this game nearly 2 months ago, and founded my own region called The Green Independent League. Boy, was it independent! Well, hermetic is probably the better term. It wasn’t the end of a week before that telegram promising the bright lights of a far-away land, Enadia, was thrown by the paperboy at the door. I came. That was just before that Ryan kid blew things up. “We need people like you,” to paraphrase Latrovia, or, as alot of us who have been along for the ride have grown to call him, by his name, Harry. I answered, somewhat awkwardly, in a telegram before FINALLY figuring out Discord. That was when he told me about a dame shuffling roleplay paperwork in the backrooms of the Culture Ministry building who was also thinking of trying to set up a good newspaper. Thus, I and the rest of these chaps that eventually tagged along, took off running into the stars with this newspaper that you are reading now.

Here we are, roughing it aren’t we, son/darling, on this magnificent boat in what has been a pretty choppy ocean. Well, there is land in sight. I do think it will come when there is greater harmony between each other, domestically and internationally. And I believe that harmony is possible; we just need to learn to respect each other and not let political and economic beliefs tear us apart. I do hope these elections do not create any more ill will. Yes, I think I share a lot of opinions with those who say they have seen a sort of dark cloud rise above this great region, this great FAMILY of ours. The sun, however, will come out with greater harmony.

I was in a hospital waiting room with my grandmother one day and happened to see a sign hanging at the nurses’ desk:

Indeed, everyone is fighting battles away from the keyboard. I do hope, son/darling, my dear Enadian family, that you will be kind to each other. Otherwise, we risk being torn apart by civil strife. Let’s just ask Yugoslavia about how civil strife worked out for them...oh wait, you can’t, because...well, you know. Anyway, just remember the golden rule (that whole “treat-others-how-you-wish-to-be-treated” thing) and I think we may just come out of this thing alright, leaving all of this hullabaloo to the trash bin of history. With that, I leave your room, for you to think about life, or talk to your friends on the phone again, an action that I apologize for interrupting.
