On April 7th, following some resignations and leave announcements, a new election for Speaker of Parliament and Vice President was held. Rosenvale won the Speaker’s seat against Greater Vakolicci Haven and a Gothikka received a strong yes vote of confidence for the Vice Presidential position. Ryan Returns to Answer For His Actions, Accusals thrown at Founder and A.G./W.A. Del.

After his treasonous actions in March, Ryan (FBH_FBH) returned from exile to answer for his deeds. During the trial, United Republic Empire published the prosecutor’s evidence which included numerous Discord Conversations and even the story which we reported on in the first issue of the E.M.P. In his defense statement, Ryan discussed his investments in Enadia, which included the regional off-site forum. Shockingly, Ryan also proceeded to accuse the Founder Latrovia and Attorney General/W.A. Delegate United Republic Empire of running a shadow government, which Harry Tsoukla of Latrovia quickly denied and, while doing so, released Ryan’s statement to the public for examination in accordance with Enadia’s Transparency Act. After being elected on the 7th of April, Rosenvale promptly put old legislation up for debate to make way for new proposals. On April 18th,The Speaker released the official Master Document for parliament and replaced New Zealand Republic with Greater Vakolicci Haven as Deputy Speaker, which caused a brief uproar among NZR’s supporters. Rosenvale released a statement Wednesday on the matter:

New Minister of Foreign Affairs Announced

Minister of Defense Narravan announced that the new Minister of Foreign Affairs would be Former Vice President Kanha of the Diamond Confederacy. This came after Kanha’s predecessor, Ikea, left office due to unknown reasons, though numerous rumors and Discord conversations now associate him with Mr. Halcyon. Ikea has not denied these accusations, but did on multiple occasions attempt to defend his association with Ryan.

In the Minor on the 15th, officials reported that TGW and EUF provided the highest number of troops with equal numbers from both of the regions. Belgium was also liberated during this time and was said to be the biggest liberation of 2018. Despite this, it has been observed by the top brass that attendance at Liberations and Defenses has waned slightly. The original plan was to interview the Minister of Foreign Affairs, which at the time of the inaugural publication was Ikea. However, due to unexpected circumstances and time conflicts, the Enadian Morning Post was unable to contact him, or his replacement, the new MoFA Kanha, in time for this issue. However, we were able to obtain an exclusive interview with His Excellency, the President of the Enadian Union, Neo-Modig Ny-Verden for his unique take on the recent happenings in our region.

You have been President of the Union since December. What first prompted you to run and what ideas did you have in mind for the region?

I just ran for fun at first as a troll Donald Trump, and to get more involved in Enadia. I initially ran with a policy of “To govern perfectly, it is necessary to avoid governing much.” I wanted Enadians to see my administration as a vehicle to propel their ideas forward, and that we (my administration) could guide them.

Obviously you want the citizens to bring their ideas to the table. Do you feel personally as president that there are some issues that Enadians should keep in mind?

They get a few daily.

I feel you’re talking about gameside issues; I was referring to regional issues and policy.

Can’t a president make a joke? *laughter* Yeah, there are a few issues. One is the E.U.F.; Enadia quickly became a powerhouse in defenderdom, but attendance has wavered. We need more active troops. I won’t force anyone to join though. A big one is the recent trend of toxicity in the region. We’re still quite young and growing; I think the intra-regional conflicts are a part of that growth stage. However, we gotta love each other more! I also think we are suffering from inactivity. We have approx. 250 nations and only 30 or so are active on Discord, the RMB, and forums.

What do you think could be done to get a bigger portion of the 250 to participate without pushing them away?

More voices talking to them. Not me, not Harry, U.R.E....anyone in government now or in the past. Citizen action! I make polls to gauge public interests. Maybe those who are inactive would be interested in other project we don’t have yet, and I think citizens letting them know they can freely express those opinions or ideas is welcomed.

Speaking of people like Harry and U.R.E....As you know, Ryan Halcyon came back to Enadia to answer for his actions. During the trial he released a statement accusing the two of running a shadow government but chose not to fully defend HIS action with any excuse. What do you think of this, is there reason for Enadians to fear the rise of such a conspiracy?

Of this accusation specifically? No. In general? Indeed. The government or any portion of it should not wield absolute power in a democracy. Bewhua, one of our more prominent citizens, has recently called on the public to demand more control of the region, and I would support that. Let the people speak!

With that in mind, do you plan to run again or do you feel that Enadia will be ready to hand the baton to another generation of aspiring leaders?

Ask Bewhua; I keep begging him to run for president. Indeed, Enadia needs new leaders now. It cannot be the same people over and over again. We cannot get used to the same people in the same positions of influence. That stagnates potential, and creates unnecessary dependency.

Well...we did ask Bewhua in our last issue and he waived the suggestion away by stating that his political beliefs might be unreasonable. Do you feel that citizens should be confident to run regardless of political beliefs as long as they follow the constitution and govern within reason?

As long as they follow the constitution and, yes, govern within reason, their socio-political beliefs should not matter. Citizens should feel confident to run and to use their voices.

So...do you intend to run again?

I have served two terms as President. I think it would be best to leave a zero before I become a villain. I do not presently intend on running for a position next election cycle. Kanha is running for president and as my former V.P., I can vouch for his abilities to lead Enadia. I still want Bewhua to run as he could be a radical departure from the norm while still being well-liked by Enadia, but that’s his decision. I think Frosty (Nexus OD Corporations) could be a great president; he’s got a lot of ideas and drive. Gothikka as well; I feel he needs to stop being so hard on himself. Regardless of my opinion, anyone should feel free to run for President or any other position!

In that case, I have just one last question...what are your plans after your term ends? As you know, after he left his positions, Latrovia still chose to serve as an activist and use his time for various projects. Do you have the same thing in mind?

I presently seek to assist the Ministries in building up things. Kate has done wonderful work with R.P. and your newspaper. The MoD and I should work on a military drive and training troops. I’ll have to consult with others on their projects.

Post-presidency, I would like to get more involved in A.I.R.. I am trying to recruit more regions into it now. Within Enadia, I would like to be a citizen-activist and support the region how I can.

This may or may not be controversial, but post-presidency I also would like to attempt negotiations to restore relations with us and T.G.O. (The Galactic Order). R/D ideological differences aside, I think our regions could benefit from more friendly ties.

If you could give reasoning, it may be less controversial...

The Galactic Order is one of the larger raider regions. I sought ties with them earlier in my presidency in order to make Enadia seem more independent and to work together to take down fascist regions; both of our regions are opposed to fascism. However, negotiations fell apart for several unfortunate reasons which in turn impacted negotiations with the KoGB (Kingdom of Great Britain) during their state visit with us.
