On the morning of Tuesday, March 20th, voters across Enadia went to the ballots for the first round of the EU|03 Elections to elect their President and Vice President and vote confidence in the abilities of the Speaker of Parliament and Union Attorney General. The results arrived the following day with Neo-Modig Ny Verden elected the new President, Ryan Halcyon (of FBH_FBH) Vice President, and a strong yes vote for the SoP and AG New Zealand Republic and United Republic Empire, respectively. In the second round, beginning March 22nd, Enadians voted for their new ministers. On the 24th, after a careful review of results, the new government was announced by the newly selected Minister of Internal Affairs, Nordenvic in an official Discord announcement:

Resignations, Leaves of Absence, and Treason Bring Brief Uneasiness to Enadia and Skeptical Allies

Resignations/Leave of Absence -Soon after the elections, real-life challenges faced some members in the government, prompting them to resign and/or take a leave of absence. Enadia’s representative to A.I.R, the Speaker of Parliament, and the President, each announced last week that they would step away from their positions due to real-life issues.

Treason - Once President Neo-Modig officially left his post on Thursday, Vice President Ryan Halcyon of FBH_FBH ascended to fill in as pro-Tempore President. According to various telegrams and reports, upon being sworn in he pardoned and lifted sanctions from regions and nations with which Enadia has had historic conflicts or disputes. He then proceeded to ban-ject a multiple ministers and officers, shut down embassies and delete the region’s factbook entry. The threat was so great that the MoD decided that it was appropriate to declare a state of Martial Law, which was later revoked once the threat had been minimised. The cabinet promptly met to discuss the spontaneous action and further investigate the motives of Mr. Halcyon while engaging with foreign diplomatic envoys about the situation. Harry Tsoukla, who ascended to Vice President from the MoFA (now Enadian Ikea) at the time of Modig’s resignation, released an official statement the following Friday.

As mentioned, preparations were promptly made for the April 7th elections. On the ballots are a vote of confidence for Gothikka to replace New Zealand Republic as speaker and a race between Rosenvale and Greater Vakolicci Haven for Speaker of Parliament.

Until the elections, the cabinet agreed for Gothikka to be named Vice President pro-tempore. Tsoukla of Latrovia will be President Pro-Tempore, and the aforementioned MoFA is Enadian Ikea. However, President Tsoukla released a statement on the fourth of April that he had submitted his resignation.

Following this, Neo-Modig has returned to his position as president. Enadia remains grateful to Mr Tsoukla for his support in this time of need, and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours in Enadia as an activist and creative contributor.

Among the items discussed were promoting Luxford University and organizing future events with more evidence-based and educated characteristics and objectives in mind. The Minister of Foreign Affairs is now accepting applications for diplomatic jobs. You may apply through the minister’s office in the regional forums. The MoFA would advise that while anyone can apply, you will need adequate experience in order to be considered.

The Enadian Morning Post got in touch with Behwua, (a long-time resident of Enadia

and present cartographer) about the recent events to get a feel of the situation from the

average citizens’ perspective.

What do you think could be the reason for President Ryan to do something so rash?

I believe he got bored and simply wanted to...spice things up. Maybe he thought he

wanted to become a raider. That, or the hostile response angered him, so he did all this

as a form of...revenge.

Interesting; when you say hostile response what do you mean?

When he said he’d open diplomacy with Layem, both me and South Asians told him

how bad of an idea that was. When he resigned, me and SA only got even angrier.

I would assume for our readers that aren’t as in the loop with the Union’s foreign

affairs that our region has had a strained relationship with Layem.

It was founded by an exile.

This is Mauricil that the readers may have heard about?

Yes. He got elected VP and after personally attacking 4 of our members (our founder,

president, and their girlfriends), he got investigated for impeachment and fled before

we could investigate him.

Definitely sounds like grounds for impeachment. Where were you when the

chaos started...if you were online at the time that is.

I was one of the 3 who got banned.

Yikes! Well, I see you were lucky enough to get back into Enadia safe and sound. Were you banned from everything?

No, only the HQ channel (Enadia’s main Discord)...I got re-invited a minute later; it wasn’t a big deal.

Ok...What is your opinion of the rebuilding and changing within government? Do you feel there is more to be done to keep something like this from happening again?

I feel like all is fine, except for the fact that the presidential office is locked.

It is quite a drab...

Maybe there should be a change where vice presidents appointed by empowered vice presidents should not be given power if the pro-tempore president resigns. Also, I believe there should be a re-election for president, but I think everyone knew that.

Are you planning to run in the general elections on the 7th?

No, I don’t think so. While I have been getting more time, the reforms I would like to do are too radical and would require me to become president. Besides, I don’t think an anarcho-communist would be elected president.

What specific reforms do you have in mind?

Well, first, I don’t like the fact that parliament now requires signing up to; maybe the citizenship form should ask “Do you want to be a part of parliament?”, or, if I could do whatever I wanted (which I can’t), I would probably remove parliament, giving all citizens a voice in their government. Second, the RP needs bigger focus in my opinion, since it attracts activity.

That makes sense. Well, on top of all this, as you may know, the NationStates developers introduced a big card-trading function within the game that has had huge sweeps in popularity in regions just like ours. Do you think Enadians will lose focus on the major tasks ahead for card collecting?

I don’t think it should distract much.

One last question: There has been greater efforts on Enadia’s part to roll out Global Citizen. Do you think that in the DISTANT future, especially with the close AIR partnerships, there will be a merger of sorts?

As in, turning into one gigantic region?

Yes.

I don’t think so, or at least hope not, considering that usually many small communities work better and are more stable than one giant amalgamation.
