About Us

What is Enactus Missouri State University?

We are a leadership organization that strives to educate and empower people in need. We use our resources to give others an opportunity to improve their lives and build a better, more sustainable world.

Our mission: To provide members opportunities to enable and empower society through the development of leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.

Each academic year, the Missouri State University Enactus team applies business and economic concepts, with an entrepreneurial approach, to develop community outreach projects. These projects are designed to help improve the quality of life and standard of living of the participants.

Our team showcases our projects at Enactus National Expo each year. This competition allows teams to showcase their projects with a 17 minute multimedia presentation and 5 minute Q&A. A panel comprised of business leaders and recruiters from various partner companies evaluate each team's performance. Top teams are recognized and rewarded, with the top team advancing to the Enactus World Cup to compete with the other 36 countries within the Enactus global network.

Ice Your Debt

Focused on raising awareness of financial responsibility to college students on the Missouri State campus . We hosted information booths, a "Cash Ca rt," and a financial responsibility trivia night with guest speakers . Through all three avenues, we encouraged students to freeze their credit cards by providing them with sealable bags and detailed instructions on how to literally "ice their debt."

Shanghai Inn

Was part of our Business Entrepreneurs Education Program [BEEP]. Our team performed a SWOT analysis in which we discovered that Shanghai Inn had a declining clientele, no marketing, and low profitability. Our tea m was able to assist by providing the business with a comprehensive marketing plan and assistance with marketing. Our primary goal: to empower Shanghai Inn for long-term success.

Stand Up, Stand Out

Was created to assist the women seeking shelter at Harmony House. The facility allows the women to stay for a 90 day period . Our program was created to help these women think beyond their base hierarchy of needs and to help them obtain the tools needed for sustainable independence.

Uncap Opportunities for Harmony House

Was created in order to assist Harmony House as an organization. Harmony House is Greene County's lead provider of emergency shelter for women and children of domestic violence . Our team assisted the new volunteer coordinator build a sustainable volunteer program from the ground up.

Enactus United States competitions are challenging, team-oriented events that create a sense of accountability and motivation for teams to continually improve the quality of their projects. They also provide an opportunity for collaboration and best-practice sharing, further strengthening the value of the learning experience and the overall effectiveness of the program.
