Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing our world. It has come here to say. That is why we all need to understand how AI works and how we can use it to improve learning. Understanding the basics of machine learning will also make us all better at navigating a world where AI produces information.
- What do I need to understand about AI?
A good way to learn about the world is to ask questions. For the next few minutes think about AI and what types of questions it raises in you. What would you like to understand better or what interests you in AI? Do you have any concerns about AI and its role in our society? Make notes.
Now that you have some thoughts on a piece of paper or a file, share your ideas with another real person. After completing your notes, feel free to ask AI about what types of questions still need answering and see what is comes up with.
- A question that needs answering
From the questions that you and your friend listed, choose one that in particular interests you. This is a question that you two will now start finding answers to. Please, follow these guidelines:
Write down your question.
First write down anything that comes to mind when you think about your question. No need to censor yourself at this stage.
Now, try finding information on the topic of your question. Please, use reliable sources. Some materials that you could use are listed on this web site.
Make notes in English based on your findings.
Include at least the following sources: a news article, a study, a video
3. Publish your question and your answer on Padlet.
Please, go on read what others have written. In addition, write a short comment on two other posts. You could for example comment what new you learned from their post or what was the most interesting or important piece of information on their post.
Finally:
You came up with a question
You did some reading from different reliable sources and found answers to your question.
You posted your question and an answer to it on Padlet.
You read the other questions and answers and wrote a comment on two other posts.
And now you are a lot more wiser on all questions related to artificial intelligence.
