You can rectify any erroneously entered banking information on the SRD website and/or change their answers to the screening questions in their application. This may be accomplished by following the steps outlined below to change your banking details to the SASSA website.
Go to the SRD website at srd.sassa.gov.za.
Scroll down to the “How do I change my banking details” section
Then Input ID number.
The Sassa banking information link will be provided to the cell phone number entered while enrolling for the SRD application by SMS or text message.
Open the SMS’s link to the banking information, then follow the on-screen directions.
Enter your ID number and click “Submit” once more. You should now be able to see your current payment method.
(Please keep in mind that the SMS will be sent to the mobile phone number you provided during the application process.)
After you have completed the above instructions, Sassa will ask you to select how your grant will be paid to your bank account.

Scroll down until you see the heading “How do I apply for this SRD Grant”.
Click the button “click here to apply online”.
Input your mobile in the required field.
You will then be notified via SMS with a secure link that is unique to you.
Click on the link in the SMS and carefully follow the instructions.
By going to the Sassa SRD website, approved receivers can modify or amend their bank information. If you are a SASSA SRD R350 Grant-approved beneficiary and want to change your banking information, please follow these steps.
Visit the Sassa website at https://srd.sassa.gov.za/. Then, as shown below, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click “Click here to change your cell phone number and/or email address.”
Verify your account by entering your 13-digit South African identity number and the 6-digit Application ID (AppID) issued by SASSA when you applied or reapplied.

You will receive an SMS from Sassa with a secure link unique to the mobile phone number you registered.
Follow the instructions in the SMS by clicking on the link. Then your contact info will be updated.
Note:
If you choose to pay with a bank account, please make sure that you are the account’s owner. SASSA cannot deposit your SRD grant into another person’s bank account.
You can only update your contact information once every 24 hours.
Before you do this, keep in mind the following:
You can only change your name if your previous application was refused due to incorrect spelling.
Your ID Number, first and last names, and surname are precise as they appear on your South African green ID Document or Smart ID Card.
The updated name must correspond to your information on the Department of Home Affairs database.
To check your Sassa SRD R350 application status online, or check your bank details are verified or not, follow these steps:
Visit Sassa website at www.srd.sassa.gov.za.
To find “Application Status,” scroll down.
“Click here to check online” should be clicked.
Then, your South African ID number should be entered.
Type your phone number in the field.
Select “Submit.”
