During the April 8 Member Convention the candidate slate for Union Council was approved by acclamation. The new UC members will take office on May 1. EMUFT officers for the 2026/2027 academic year (from left to right) are:

Anke is a part-time lecturer in Communication, Media & Theatre Arts who returned to EMU after earning her Ph.D. in Communication at Wayne State. She has served EMUFT in multiple leadership roles, including Vice President, bargaining co-chair, and President, and is committed to advancing lecturer advocacy, professional development, and connection across the union.
Maria is a part-time lecturer in Biology who joined EMU in 2021 and has served EMUFT in a range of roles, including Member-Organizer, Biology Department Steward, bargaining team note-taker, Chief Steward, and Secretary. She brings a strong commitment to building a responsive, member-led union grounded in communication, relationships, and collective advocacy.
Lauren has been part of the EMU community since 2015, first as a student in Philosophy and now as a part-time lecturer. Since 2023, she has supported EMUFT communications and social media, regularly participating in union meetings and events, and is focused on strengthening communication and creating more opportunities for leadership within the union.
Paul has been a full-time lecturer in Engineering at EMU since 2016 and has served as Treasurer of EMUFT since 2022. As Treasurer, he works to support a more equitable and inclusive role for lecturers at the university through careful, effective stewardship of union resources.
Lindsay is a full-time lecturer in Geography and Geology with extensive union experience as a steward, Chief Steward, member organizer, and bargaining team note-taker. She brings strong contract knowledge, a collaborative approach to grievance work, and a commitment to expanding transparency and helping members better understand and enforce their rights under the contract.
