Other announcements and news:
The EMS has funded a proposal by the E-ANLAMA TAG within the Strategic Activities call for the period 2026-2027. The proposal, entitled "Shaping the Future of Numerical Linear Algebra in Europe" aims to strengthen the connections and collaboration within members of the TAG (as well as with other researchers from outside Europe) by creating working groups on relevant topics of NLA, including: (a) Randomized NLA; (b) NLA in High Performance Computing; (c) NLA in Industry; (c) NLA in Machine Learning; and (d) Quantum algorithms in NLA.
The member of the E-ANLAMA TAG, Volker Mehrmann, has been awarded "EMS distinguished Lecturer 2026" by the European Mathematical Society. This is "an honorary position awarded to internationally renowned researchers affiliated with European institutions" (you can have a look here for more details). The nomination was presented by the E-ANLAMA and Dissipative and port-Hamiltonian Systems TAGs.
