Practice: We will be meeting Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday each week from 3:10-4:15. We will be meeting outside by the northwest corner of the building. (Main and So. Union). Athletes may leave their backpacks outside or in their lockers. Athletes should come prepared to run. This means wearing clothes that you find comfortable for running, running shoes, and water bottles for the hotter days.
Competition: There are 7-8 meets in a season. Athletes will need to find their own ride to meets as Burlington School District cannot arrange bus transportation. If you need a ride, please check our ride board here. Competition a 1.8 mile race. Athletes will run based on gender and compete as individuals and as a team. To learn more about team scoring, check this video on how cross country meets are scored (Note:This video was tailored to High School meets). Meets typically end around 5:30 pm. Athletes are encouraged to stay until the end as there are often short award presentations. Athletes should bring their own water, food, and warm clothes for competition. Uniform tops will be provided to all athletes and racing spikes are available for athletes if they decide they want racing spikes. These are not required and actually discouraged for beginning athletes.
