Use Google Sites’ templates for speed.
Prioritize structure and navigation over perfection.
Test links between pages and ensure the site works on mobile.
Scoring Rubrics:
This is the landing page, so keep it welcoming and concise. Students can use a header image (e.g., a free stock photo or simple graphic) and add 2-3 short paragraphs or bullet points. Suggested simple content:
Headline: "Welcome to My Personal Website"
Introduction: A brief paragraph like: "Hi, I'm [State your name], a [your strand and grade level] student learning web design. This site showcases my basic skills in creating online content." (you can add more sentences...)
Navigation Teaser: Quick links or buttons to the other pages, with a sentence like: "Explore my About page to learn more about me, check out my Portfolio for projects, or get in touch via Contact."
Footer: Add a simple note: "Created Using Google Sites by John Doe. Copyright 2025. All Rights Reserved."
Focus on personal or fictional bio info that's easy to write. Use headings, a photo (selfie or placeholder avatar), and short sections. Suggested simple content:
Headline: "About Me"
Bio Section: 1-2 paragraphs, e.g.: "I'm [Student's Name], passionate about [hobby or subject, like technology/art]. I live in [city/country] and enjoy [2-3 interests, e.g., reading, coding, sports]. This website is part of my class project to practice building sites."
Skills or Fun Facts: Bullet points like:
Basic web design using Google Sites
Favorite color: Blue
Goal: To learn more about digital tools
Add more info about yourself
Image: Upload a quick photo or use a free icon.
This showcases "output," but since it's a quick task, use placeholders like descriptions of class projects. You can use the EMBED to embed images, links, or other ouput created from other platform. Check your previous output from the tasks in Empowerment Technologies. Suggested simple content:
Headline: "My Portfolio"
Project Entries: 3-4 short sections, each with a subheading, image, and description. Examples:
Project 1: Infographics – "A 100-word essay on the topic of your infographic. Upload your infographics image to your google drive and insert in this webpage."
Project 2: Digital Poster – "Your digital poster made in tool [like Photopea or Canva]. Add a 100-word description about the poster you created. Insert your poster in this webpage."
Add more output from your previous tasks in Empowerment Technologies.
Keep this functional and minimal – focus on text for reaching out. Google Sites has built-in contact forms, you can also leverage from that. Suggested simple content:
Headline: "Contact Me"
Introduction: "Feel free to reach out for questions or collaborations!"
Contact Info: Bullet points like:
Email: [student's email or placeholder like example@email.com]
Social Media: Links to [Instagram/Twitter placeholders, e.g., @username]
Phone: [Optional fictional number/ not real number]
