VIRTUS Personal Safety Program for Children
Diocese of Pittsburgh, PA
This program is designed to help parents and families learn how to protect children against sexual and physical abuse. Although the topic is difficult, this program makes it easier to introduce the concepts of personal safety, boundaries, healthy vs. unhealthy touch, and identifying trusted adults in age-appropriate ways. We partner with you to ensure that your children are empowered to live as God intended - in safe, loving, and protected environments.
STEP 1: PREPARE!
Prepare to teach by reviewing the three documents below: the overview, the guide and the pamphlet. This is general preparation for the adult. The actual lessons for your child will be provided in step 2.

STEP 2: TEACH!
Pleae select your child's grade from the range below. Lessons are two pages long and can be done in one or two sittings as needed.
NOTE: the lessons on this site are the parent-led sessions which have been condensed for home use. Full lesson plans are optional and upon request.
