Welcome to a safe space to start your therapy journey. My name is Kay Nordren, MS, LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) and I specialize in therapy and counseling in Minnesota with adults, teenagers and children (ages 6 and up) and I help clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma (PTSD), grief and loss, ADHD, burnout, break up issues, infidelity, divorce, caregiving, codependency, attachment style issues, other life challenges, and life transitions. My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brainspotting (for trauma, fears, triggers, and negative reactions), other awesome techniques, and Internal Family Systems (IFS or Parts Work), always grounded in empathy and respect where you can be seen, heard, known and valued.
I believe that mental health is not just the absence of distress but the presence of healthier and more authentic relationship interactions, better communication, assertiveness, boundaries, and self care skills, greater insights, deeper awareness, and more self compassion and understanding. Therapy is a safe and empowering space where you can explore your experiences without judgment, develop coping tools, and move forward with greater clarity , confidence, and be a better & healthier version of yourself.
