Black magazines have been instrumental in amplifying Black voices, celebrating Black culture, and empowering the Black community worldwide.
These publications have played a pivotal role in bridging gaps, breaking barriers, and influencing positive change in societies.
Majik at the Forefront of Black Excellence launches her own Black Magazine
My name is Majik Renee Pennix, and I am the proud parent of three children, Antonio, Asja, and Ahmad, as well as a grandparent to Ahmir.
I was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, and spent 20 years traveling back and forth to Newark, New Jersey, to visit other family members.
After graduating in 1982, I pursued a college education in interior design and decorating.
Throughout my life, I have taken on various roles, such as becoming a model and traveling to different cities before settling down.
My marriage concluded after 12 years, but I have achieved a wide range of accomplishments, including being a community leader, child care advocate, journalist, public speaker, and more.
Three years ago, I found my true calling with Empire 45 magazine, which was established under the influence of my brother's Empire45.
My passion for the magazine grew, not just for the culture of Black and Brown people, but also for the Black community's wealth and values.
My mission is to share information, news, and, most importantly, give back to the community.
I have faced numerous challenges and tribulations throughout my life, but these experiences have only made me stronger.
My commitment to uplifting Empire45 magazine remains unwavering, and I will continue to work diligently to take it to new heights.
