Podcast - Tes News podcast: The school attendance crisis | Tes 

1. The government is finally taking into considerations students mental health when it comes to school. Now that mental health is becoming a more accepted thing, schools are considered their students mental health when it comes to the stress it gives.

2. More students around the U.S are becoming more absent day by day, so the government is refining the fines and prosecutions for missing school. They think with more laid back but finalized rules, it will push people to come knowing there is going to be a consequence now.

3. People think the government's actions towards the attendance crisis will help students excel. With giving student more time to stay home, the government thinks it should relive stress to students who are struggling going back into school.

In this podcast I learned students' mental health has a great impact to their everyday lives and piling schoolwork on top of that makes it worse, but there are ways you as a teacher can help. Making sure you aren't assigning to much homework in an exam week, answering questions and explaining assignments more thoroughly are ways to help a student as a teacher with schoolwork.

Blog: Libs of TikTok post targeted Arizona gender-related lesson (insidehighered.com) 

1. People are worried that a child making such a big choice, like changing its gender, could have life altering effects on the child. Children change there favorite color on a day to day basis so how can they make a big descion like what their gender is.

2.  The University of Arizona is teaching nurses that children can "tell" what gender they are. The blog explains the nurses studying at UA were told that children at a young age "know" their gender and it does not relate to what they biologically are.

3. The college does not have a say in what the nursing lessons must include. In order to receive backlash, the college released a statement that stated they had "No say" as to what is included in the nursing lessons and is overall up to the state regulations.

I plan to research about what the new regulations are in nursing school as to what they were 20+ years ago and to find out why the regulations changed. I also would want to learn more about the mental psychology of a young child because I am interested to know if they are even old enough to make a decision that young. 

Edutopia: How to Help Young Students Transition Throughout the School Day | Edutopia 

This blog talks about the way to help young students transition through the school day or from one classroom to another and focuses on what is does to the children's attitude throughout the day.

1. It helps to play an interactive game before or during transitions to make it an easier shift on the children. Getting them distracted before moving locations helps them take their mind of location movement and make them excited to start/end a class.

2. Letting students wear hats or glasses indoors can help with harsh light and calm them down when in a different environment. Going from a sunny/bright classroom to a dim or lower-lighter class can affect a child's mood greatly. 

3.  Stretching or moving around before or after a transition can act as a distraction. Getting up and moving around allows students to stay awake when learning subject after subject.

I plan on reading more into how to help children transition not only from class to class but from grade to grade and what can help them learn easier. A calm and collected classroom is a great learning environment for young children as it invites safety and regulation when having an unorganized classroom can cause trouble or ruckus. 

Twitter Overview

Twitter is a cite that makes is easy to post your thoughts and ideas and anyone in the world be able to respond.

1. If you follow educations cites, twitter will show you things that relate in your feed. When you are interested in a subject twitter will show you more things related to stuff you like, repost, comment on, or save.

2. With the ability to see everyone's different opinion on news and media, it allows a new wave of education of history and current events. Twitter (X) is one of the fastest growing media sites and is very political/ media related. With everyone able to comment or repost these stories, it is easy to start up a conversation about your opinion on this site,

3. Not only does twitter allow you to communicate with anyone, but it gives you trending news, sports, and entertainment. It gives you the option to pick what you would like to look at by putting sections at the top of the screen. Making it quick and easy to find what you want to know about a subject.

 Continuing to post on twitter would increase my social media interaction allowing my PLN and tweets to be seen by more people and have more engagement. If I am more active on twitter and interact with others, I am more liekly to gain followers, like, and comments.

Snapchat Overview

Snapchat is an app that allows you to take, share, and create pictures and allows you to communicate with friends and family from all over the world at anytime.

1. Snapchat allows you to share you location with friends if you choose to and explore the map to see different pictures from everywhere around the world.

2. Allows you to communicate via call, facetime, send pictures or text with people from anywhere and everywhere anytime of the day. Making it one of the most efficient ways of communications this day in age.

3.  Offers educational and entertaining stories in the explore page which has stories from shows like geographic and history 101 which you can subscribe to, to see that kind of information more often.

Snapchat allows you to post photos and videos to world-wide story, which allows you to share a different way of communication. It is a very easy and simple app to learn to use and one of the best ways to reach anyone at anytime.
