Emmanuel Micro-farms was founded by Amanda Alvarado and Launce Powers with a vision to make fresh, pesticide-free produce accessible to everyone. What started as a small project has grown into a mission-driven community farm dedicated to nurturing both the land and the people who depend on it. We are guided by a commitment to sustainability, a passion for education, and a dedication to serving our community. These values are at the heart of everything we do, from the way we grow our crops to the way we engage with our customers.
"Our mission is to cultivate crops free from pesticides, ensuring safe and healthy food for all, while also nurturing the future of our next generation of farmers." -Amanda
" At Emmanuel Microfarms, our overall goals are to be able to empower communities through sustainable farming practices, while supporting the local economies, and give inspiration to the next generation of farmers. We believe that everyone can contribute to a healthier planet, whether they have acres of land or live in an apartment." - Launce
Our Story
"The journey of Emmanuel Micro-farms began in 2020 when Amanda Alvarado decided to turn a passion for farming into a mission to serve the community. From humble beginnings, she has grown to become a trusted source of fresh produce and a beacon of sustainable practices in our community. When the world shut down, and everyone was made to stay home a passion to feed people was born, during a time of extreme adversity battling post-partum, trauma, and a lockdown, God was cultivating a new thing in Amanda, it would be several years before this would start coming to pass, but here we are opening up and walking by faith each day, Amanda has lived by " We can do all things in Christ whom strengthens us." -Philippians 4:13, we realized early on we could not do this ourselves and that we need God our father to hold our hand every step of the way, and man oh man he does not disappoint, he is a promise-keeping God, ( Ezekiel 12:25, psalm 145:13, Hebrews 10:23). We are now 2024 and finally getting ready to open up our doors, join us in our journey in not only growing food but walking it out in faith with our God who is able Ephesians 3:20-21.
