HISTORY

Eugenio M. Lopez Jr. Center for Media Arts Senior High School is a standalone senior high school situated at 5A Scout Torillo Street, Barangay Sacred Heart, Diliman, Quezon City. It is formerly known as SHS within Kamuning Elementary School, which was founded by ABS-CBN Corporation with the partnership of Quezon City Local Government, the Department of Education (DepEd), and the Magna Anima Teachers Foundation. As per the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), the partnership with Magna Anima Teachers Foundation ended its contract in 2019. However, the institution is still open for future partnership with them. 
Currently, we have 43 partners from various industries. To name a few in the arts, design, and media industry, Cultural Center of the Philippines, Erehwon Center for the Arts, When in Manila, Pelikulove, Cut Print Podcast Netowrk, FlipMusic, PolyEast Records, Teal Magazine, Philippine News Agency, Writer’s Block, and Wazzup.Ph. Meanwhile, for support services, School Parent-Teacher Association, Bureau of Plant Industries, Rotary Club of Roosevelt, Viper Fire Volunteers, Ateneo PGCR, and Smart Communications, Inc. The thrust is to further partnerships that will enable programs and projects in media arts services and school facilities improvement. 

THE SCHOOL HEAD AND STUDENTS IN NUMBERS THROUGH THE YEARS



In the school year 2019-2020, the school population increased to 447 under the leadership of Mr. Noel M. De Los Reyes


In the school year 2021-2022, ELJCMASHS was under the leadership of Mrs. Josephine M. Maningas with a student population of 347.


Currently, the school is under the supervision of the new school principal Mr. Edgardo D. Cruz with a student population of 304 with fifteen (15) teaching personnel (14 Teachers I-III and 2 Master Teachers) and six (6) non-teaching personnel. 




The school started offering Arts and Design Track, Media Arts Strand in the school year 2016-2017 under the supervision of Mrs. Janet D. Dionio.


In the School Year 2017-2018, the student population of ELJCMASHS rose to 380 and continued to grow to 467 in the year 2018 - 2019 under the helm of the second principal of the school, Mrs. Josephine D. Obligar
