Here's why you might want to consider filtering your email:
- Automatically apply labels to categorize incoming messages, such as customer feedback or project-related messages.
- Getting messages you don’t need right now, like forum posts or newsletters? Let Gmail automatically archive them so you can keep a clean inbox and read them later.
- Flag VIP emails.
- Archive notifications.

- Create an email signature.
- If you don't have labels currently established in Gmail, create at least one.
- If you don't have filters currently created, create at least one.
- Take a look at your inbox. Any emails that can be snoozed? Do it!
- If you don't currently have a canned response created, do so now.
