 Who doesn’t love to sit in a confined space for long periods of time and get bored? Well, Emirates has got you covered. The inflight entertainment is called ICE, and you won’t find anything like it anywhere else. The airline has made sure that you have more than 4,500 channels to choose from. Movies and TV shows of all genres and production houses are available. If you’re not a fan of movies or TV shows, you can use Emirates’ music system. All you have to do is plug in the headphones provided by the airline and you’ll be able to enjoy some of the best curated playlists on the system. You also have the option to listen to Radio which is really great inside a plane. 

In Economy Class, you always receive a multi-course meal. Choose your favorite main course served with fresh fruit or salad, cracker and cheese, and our daily sweet treat. Pair with our complimentary fruit juices and soft drinks, and our selection of wine, beer and spirits. 

Seats and Legroom

• Emirates has 3-4-3 seating in most of its 777 economy cabins, meaning there are 3 seats on either side of the aisles.

• Seat pitch ranges from 32" to 34", which is typical for economy class. Seat width is usually 17.5".

• Newer planes like the 777-300ER tend to have more legroom and space. Older 777-200LR planes can feel more cramped.

Amenities

• Emirates offers a blanket, pillow, headphones, and amenity kit with socks, eye mask, toothbrush etc. in economy.

• There is a personal TV screen at every seat with over 2,000 channels of movies, TV shows, music and games.

• Meals vary by flight length but all flights over 3 hours include at least one free meal and drink service.

Baggage Allowance 

• The standard free checked baggage allowance is 35kg in economy class.

• Carry-on baggage is limited to 7kg for an item like a suitcase or bag, and another accessory like a laptop bag.

Overall, Emirates offers a better than average economy class experience in terms of amenities, entertainment, and service. But the 3-4-3 seating can be tight for bigger travelers on longer flights.

Layout and Number of Seats

• Emirates has started fitting some of its newest Boeing 777X planes with premium economy seats in a 2-4-2 configuration.

• This means there are 2 seats on either side of the aisles, and then a block of 4 seats in the middle.

• The number of premium economy seats varies by aircraft, ranging from around 40 to 60 seats.

Seat Size and Pitch

• Emirates premium economy seats have a pitch of up to 40 inches, which is about 6-8 inches more than standard economy.

• Seat width ranges from 18.5 to 19.5 inches with a generous recline and ample leg rest area.

• Overall the seats provide much more personal space and comfort compared to economy.

Features

• Premium economy seats are upholstered in anti-stain leather with stitching details and wood finishing.

• There is also a calf and foot rest, side cocktail table, and adjustable headrests and leg rests.

• Other amenities include high-quality blankets, pillows, slippers and luxury amenity kits.

Unfortunately Emirates does not currently offer a premium economy cabin on any of its A380 aircraft. Some key details:

• Emirates has over 115 A380s in its fleet, making it the largest operator of the A380.

• All of Emirates' A380s feature their standard economy class and business/first class cabins.

• In 2020, Emirates announced plans introduce premium economy seats on some of its newest Boeing 777X aircraft. These were expected to enter service in 2023.

• As of late 2022, Emirates has not specified plans to install premium economy seating on any of its double-decker A380 aircraft.

• The A380s have Emirates' popular on-board bar and shower spas, located at the rear of the business and first class cabins rather than having space for premium economy.

• Emirates seems focused on maximizing passenger loads in economy and the premium front-end cabins on the A380s. The 777Xs allow more flexibility to add premium economy amidst uncertain travel demand.

So in summary - Emirates currently does not offer premium economy on its iconic A380 fleet. This may change in the future but likely after the 777X premium economy debut. The massive A380 business and first class cabins are a key part of the Emirates premium brand experience.

Availability:

- Emirates has only just begun flying its new premium economy cabin on Boeing 777X aircraft. So far it is only available on a very limited number of routes.

- As more 777X planes enter service, premium economy tickets should become available to purchase on additional routes.

Ticket Booking:

- Emirates premium economy tickets can be booked on emirates.com, via the Emirates call center, or through travel booking sites once the inventory is loaded.

- Tickets can be booked as one-way, roundtrip, or as part of a multi-city itinerary. Emirates offers online specials and sales if available.

Ticket Pricing:

- Premium economy ticket pricing is less expensive than business class tickets on Emirates but more expensive than economy tickets for the same route. 

- Early premium economy fares spotted have been roughly 1.5 - 2x the cost of a Saver economy class ticket.

- Ticket prices will vary considerably depending on the route, peak/off-peak travel, and purchase conditions.
