Emily Shingleton is originally from Snow Hill, North Carolina, and is currently a senior at East Carolina University pursuing a degree in Dance Performance and Choreography. During her time at ECU, she has performed in dance works at the ECU/Loessin Playhouse and the Archie Burnette Studio Theatre, collaborating with both faculty and student choreographers. In addition to performing, Emily has choreographed her own original works, further developing her artistic voice and creative vision. After graduation, Emily plans to continue her education by completing a second degree in Special Education. Her goal is to combine her passion for dance and education by creating inclusive opportunities that allow students with and without special needs to experience the transformative power of movement.
