My education has focused on the intersection of Public Administration and Information Science from a Mexican American viewpoint. My multidisciplinary education directly inspired me to seek out the ways in which public librarianship works as an aspect of public service. Libraries serve an important role as third places in urban planning, and I want to learn and understand how to create successful libraries that foster community self-determination and intellectual freedom through collective action specifically surrounding marginalized peoples.
