Society's imposed roles often cloak women's true essence. 'She Was Brave.' delves into this, spotlighting the tension between external identities and genuine selfhood. Inspired by Emily-Kate's journey as a mother, wife, grandmother, and breast cancer survivor, it echoes the duality of perception and reality. Embedded with a resonating quote, this piece embodies the multifaceted layers women carry. The artwork depicts the interplay between empowerment and confinement, symbolized by threads representing expectations and scars left by breast cancer. The figure stands at the crossroads, held together and pulled apart by societal strings. Is she tethered or on the verge of release?
