From my Introduction to Interior Design Class:APPD 1140
VisionBoard.pdf
This class was the foundation to many design concepts I learned. We discussed the history of design and its periods. I learned about the fundamentals such as the design process, the elements of design, and its principles. I started my journey to understanding space planning, the importance of codes, and the effects an interior designer has on the world.

Below is the final project I was given for this class in which I applied all these learned skills into one. I had a "client" and I learned the importance of meeting their needs.

From my Contract Design class:APPD 2260
EHudakOfficeProject.pdf
This class taught me all about commercial design. Public spaces are so much more than a shell for people to live their lives in. Our environment affects us in more ways than one and everyone deserves proper access to these places. This class is where I really got into codes and accessibility. I learned about how the smallest details add up such as lighting and drapery. Above is my midterm project, this was my first "big" SketchUp project. Looking back at it now, I find it funny because I am constantly creating things at this size nowadays.
Below is my final project, I used not only SketchUp but AutoCAD as well to created a floor plan. During this time, AutoCAD and I were just becoming friends. I was so pleased when I finished that layout just because it meant improvement in another drafting program. Little did I know how much I would enjoy CAD especially for architectural design.

From my Architectural Drafting class:DRFT 2215
Below are snippets from some of my AutoCAD drawings. I have taken Fundamentals of CAD and Architectural Drafting classes. The architectural class really opened my eyes to the many uses of CAD. I really enjoyed making floor plans and learning the basics of what goes into creating a build. There are some interior elevations in the slides above as well.

From Working at Pier 1 Imports:
Above are pictures I took during our Harvest Collection. We still had many spring and summer pieces left and I was asked to create my own display. It was really neat coming into work and seeing one of my designs out for customers! Something else I have really enjoyed with Pier 1 is following along with their visual merchandising handbook. A designer puts these looks together for the company to use in all stores across the country. My experiences at Pier 1 Imports has been enjoyable thus far!
Working for The Countertop Store by Vangura has taught me so much about what goes into kitchen and bath remodels. The information I have learned mixed with my SketchUp abilities has allowed me to create a many design ideas. An example I have shown is for my parent's kitchen. Little projects like these are wonderful examples of how the skills I have learned from Pierpont and my internship apply to everyday life and careers.
