This project explored our relationship with and separation from the natural world and the concept of blurring the lines between ‘nature’ and us, recognising that we as humans are an integral part of nature.
Taking the concept of merging and weaving ourselves into the natural world, I initially experimented with simple weaving and knitting using natural fibres and weaving and looping in grasses and leaves I collected on walks. This along with photographs I took of myself in wild spaces inspired my knits which I designed into outfit concepts that camouflage oneself into nature.
All of the materials I used in this project are natural fibres, including natural raffia, hemp, linen, deadstock wool and deadstock cashmere, which will allow the garment to biodegrade at the eventual end of it's life.
