Emily began her love of music at the age of two when she started playing her favorite Disney songs on the piano by ear. Shortly after she began piano lessons and never looked back.

Throughout childhood Emily developed her classical piano craft by competing locally around her home town in the Pacific Northwest. Soon she added jazz piano, guitar, and singing to her skillset and began to develop a passion for composition.

Eventually Emily found her way to California where she attended UC Santa Barbara as a piano performance major. She maintained her collegiate piano instruction all four years but ultimately followed her passion and graduated with a BA in Music Composition.

Today Emily is actively composing and songwriting (emilygargusmusic.com) while maintaining a bustling music studio. She currently lives in Ventura, CA with her husband, son, and menagerie of pets!
