Hi! My name is Emily McGovern and I'm an RTG Postdoctoral Scholar at University of Oregon working with Ben Elias. I received my PhD in May 2024 at North Carolina State University under the supervision of Corey Jones.

My main research interests are webs, which are diagrammatic presentations of Lie algebra represenations. In my PhD, I studied these from a categorical perspective and constructed a class of module categories for webs in type A. I am currently thinking about several compuational and representation theoretic questions about webs in both type A and type C. 

I am also interested in tensor categories. More specifically, I have been a part of projects arising from the field of classifcation of modular tensor categories and fusion categories. 

I am also interested in scholarly teaching and have been an instructor of record for 7 classes at University of Oregon and NC State University. These classes include various levels of calculus, linear algebra, and discrete mathematics.
