Philosophy & Practices

Teaching is important to me because I get to impact a child's life and give them the confidence and tools they need to succeed! 

Hands-on, inquiry-based learning encourages students to discover their understanding of concepts.

When planning lessons, I incorporate manipulatives and activities to appeal to visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners. Intelligence is not a single fixed trait and can be assessed in a variety of ways.

Students can work with experts and learn more about our community. It is impactful when students learn from different voices and in different environments. 

Encouraging collaboration within the classroom is important as it fosters a sense of community, embraces diverse viewpoints, and facilitates cooperative learning. 

I place a high priority on differentiation to address the unique needs of every student in my classroom. Each student can excel and achieve their utmost potential through customized instruction and diverse learning opportunities. 

I aim to cultivate critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in my students. These skills help students make thoughtful decisions, solve problems, and create new ideas. 

Strong relationships and clear expectations help create a positive classroom where students feel respected and ready to learn. A calm environment is where I find students succeed best.
