I’m a recent graduate with an M.A. in Environmental Studies from Western Washington University. During my time as a graduate student, I expanded my knowledge of ecology, geography, and GIS while also gaining teaching experience through leading lab sessions and providing mentorship and guidance to students enrolled in Western’s GIS program. I'm currently searching for work as a GIS analyst or GIS instructor; I love both teaching and research and would love the opportunity to pursue both.
I graduated from Western Washington University in 2018 magna cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and minors in Geography and GIS.
I’m interested in how patterns of animal behavior can impact ecosystem structure and function at a variety of spatial scales. I’m particularly interested in researching how animals perceive and interact with the landscapes around them, and I believe that research on the spatial aspects of animal behavior can lead to the development of better strategies for designing conservation reserves, mitigating human-wildlife conflict, and increasing habitat connectivity in urban areas. I strongly believe that human-wildlife coexistence, particularly with large carnivores such as wolves, is a net benefit for wildlife and humans alike.
I’m interested in researching a variety of taxa, often but not always ones that have a cultural reputation as “pests,” “nuisances,” or otherwise “undesirable.” I’m particularly interested in wolves, coyotes, bears, otters, raccoons, cougars, lynxes, bats, corvids, and butterflies.
