The First-Year Engineering Leaders Summit is a national gathering focused on leadership, innovation, and collaboration in first-year engineering education. Hosted at the Colorado School of Mines from October 22–24, 2025, and sponsored by EMIFY (Entrepreneurial Mindset in First-Year), this event brings together a select group of leaders from across the country to address critical issues such as:
Curricular design and program administration
Faculty development and institutional change
Student success and support
Entrepreneurial mindset integration in first-year programs
Modeled as a first-year-focused counterpart to MEEd (ASME Mechanical Engineering Education Summit) and other departmental summits, this event fills a long-standing gap in national support for first-year engineering program leadership. The summit registration and lodging is fully subsidized for 2025. Attendees are only responsible for travel. Sessions are designed to be interactive and discussion-driven, offering practical tools, frameworks, and peer exchange that leaders can take back to their home institutions.
